Generic 50163BLK Mobile Computer Tower with Shelf (White, Wood Composite, Metal)

My 9 yo needed a new computer desk/work space as he had out grown his little kiddie table & chairs. I was looking for something functional and inexpensive. I was hesitant about this desk because of all the mediocre reviews from other buyers; however, after receiving and putting the stand together I am extremely satisfied. The desk comes in pieces that are well packaged with Styrofoam to reduce risk of damage during shipping. The directions are pictures, but they are easy to follow...you don't need an engineering degree. The screw holes lined up as they should. The surfaces are made of out MDF so don't get over zealous with tightening down screws also some places have the screw going into a plastic nut so use a screw driver and gently tighten or you will strip the holes. I imagine I will have to go back every so often and retighten a few screws. The platform has plastic caster wheels that move across carpeting without issue. The pictures make this desk look like it can tip over easily which was a safety concern. But, once put together the desk is surprisingly stable, I was expecting some wobble (you get what you pay for), but there was none. The next test was to load everything on it: Computer tower, monitor, Xbox on top shelf - still stable. Keep in mind this desk is made out of MDF and thin aluminum struts. Don't expect to load it up with a computer, computer accessories, and the weight of a year's worth of college books. The main table height is perfect for someone of small stature. My son is a little over 4ft and was able to sit comfortably using the Homycasa Yanyan Mesh Mid-back Executive Adjustable Computer Task Desk Office Chairs (Blue) also purchased on Amazon. The keyboard tray is attached to gliders made of metal bearings, not cheap, plastic sliders. The tray pulls out and returns smoothly. The bottom small shelf hangs off the back allowing for placement as desired. The main workspace provides for plenty of workspace even with the computer monitor.

This desk came very fast much sooner than expected. It was in great shape and was very easy to assemble by myself a 68 year old grandma. It is just the right size and very spacious. The top shelf holds my printer with extra space on the shelf for what ever you may need. I am very pleased with this desk.

Was a little disappointed one piece was damaged out of the package. Luckily it is hidden under the desk so it is not visible. Overall it's an okay desk!

This unit is sturdier than you may expect, and came ready to assemble. I was able to assemble it easily on my own; it would have helped if the parts were labeled but still, easy enough. It came undamaged, all parts were present and accounted for, and it is a great deal for the money.

This is a cute compact desk. I did not rate it a 5 because it is so low. I am 5'4 and it low for me.
