john Hammond is best solo artist I have ever seen perform.

Great collection of solo performances by one of the great blues greats. I've seen John Hammond live and this is as close to experiencing his magic in that setting as you can get. Highly recommended!

Terrific collection of music from a terrific performer who really understands the music. Listen to the album and then do your self a favor and go see him in concert.

A great album by the present day master of the blues!

I had not heard John Hammond before he came to town last month. The concert was brilliant. What a first rate performer. He sang mostly songs from this album. Thankyou John! The CD is as good as the concert. John puts all his considerable skill and emotion into every song. Being a country blues person myself this is just up my alley. Not the bland ballad material that Bibb and Mo play, but good gut wrenching, powerful songs delivered like it was the first and last time. Definitely worth checking out.
