This thing is cheap for a reason.
You can't listen to music while this thing is charging, as you can with some other mp3 players. Also, the menu operation is horrible, and hard to understand. Spend the extra $ and get a Sandisk unit... they are tried and true.

UI is not intuitive and not well documented. Good sound. On/off button provides convenience.
The navigation is very difficult. There is no enter key. You use the 'menu' key to get a menu. To select an item on the menu, use the menu key again. To go back to the previous menu, use volume key. You use the 'volume' key to control the volume too. This is how the manufacture cuts corner.I just want a device to play mp3 files when I work out in the gym. I don't carry my cellphone with me all the time because it's bulky and heavy. I don't need radio, EBook, wifi, recording, or bluetooth. This MP3 player serves the purpose. However, the navigation between functions is almost IMPOSSIBLE. It's very user unfriendly. A Users Guide would help, but the one page 'Users Guide' included in the product is extremely POOR and SKIMPY. A software developer with any sense of pride would provide better documentation.Sound quality is good. Battery life is unknown at this time. There is no battery powder indicator, at least none is readily available.I do like the on-off button. Some more expensive brands do not even have one.To sum up, this one is worth of the money. There are very few mp3 players on the market anyway since most people use cellphones now.

Way better sound quality than I expected, but terrible user interface
I'm using this to drive an Anker speaker in my mother's room at the memory care unit for Alzheimer's patients. She is beyond the point where she can operate it, so it just runs 24 hours a day playing over 70 hours of classical music in suffle mode, and the nurses turn the volume down at night. This device drives the Anker speakers WAY better than the brand-name SanDisk player we were using, which never got very loud, had some distortion, and finally died. The sound coming from this no-name player is clear and strong, and can get quite loud. The display is also clear and easy to read, unlike the SanDisk unit. However, the user interface is horrible and non-intuitive. You select "Menu" to open the menu, press left and right to scroll up and down, press the bottom button to go back, and press "Menu" to make a selection (this should be the middle button instead). You can figure it out, but your brain has to re-learn it every time.

No Volume Control - FIXED!
This was my original review: Was able to upload music to it fine, and it plays, but it's so quiet that I can't use it in my car. No way to adjust volume either. Basically useless.Seller got back to me quickly, in case any one else is also a ding dong can't figure it out, you have to hold the volume button down and then adjust.

Junk
The user interface was awful. Clunky, not intuitive, really difficult to navigate. Buttons felt terrible too. The materials used to make them should never have been wasted on these. Barely any support for music formats too.

Threw it in the garbage..
Like they say, you get what you pay for. Loaded a song, plugged in the ear buds, and heard broken music and static. Then tried my old headphones and the same thing. Tossed the piece of junk in the trash.

Waste of money
You get what you pay for. I purchased to used for music at the gym instead of cellphone. This doesn't hold a charge for more then 15-20 minutes, a total waste of money.

AWFUL INTERFACE
I try to use this thing for podcasts and it's incredibly frustrating. The interface is so counterintuitive and impossible to figure out. Find another product, this one sucks!
