ACUPWR's AD-1000IEC model is an American-made step down voltage transformer that converts AC voltage from 220-240 volts to 110-120 volts, allowing appliances and electronic devices that require 110-120 volts to operate in countries with a 220-240-volt standard. The AD-1000IEC has a guaranteed load capability of 1000 watts/volt amps and will go 20-percent beyond that number thanks to our Tru-Watts TM technology, which uses a thermal protection sensor for overload protection and safety; when the transformer overheats due to wattage or voltage overload, the unit will automatically shut off and restart when it cools down. [Compare with cheap transformers that use unreliable glass cartridge fuses]. This is why the manufacturers of Asian-made transformers suggest you purchase a model that is twice or even three times the wattage you require. With ACUPWR Tru-WattsTM the "Two-Times the Wattage" rule doesn't apply. The AD-1000IEC features a NEMA 5-15R output receptacle accepts the Type B plug used in the USA and Canada (and most countries using 110-120-volt standards). Input power arrives via an IEC C13 receptacle and a choice of power cords with the plug type necessary for the region or country where the transformer will be used. The AD-1000IEC ships with a an IEC C14 power cord (compatible with the IEC C13 receptacle) and a Type F Schuko plug commonly used throughout Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East, Africa, and other regions and continents. HOWEVER, the AD-1000IEC can be ordered with the C14 connector with a Type M plug (South Africa), Type G fused BS-1363 plug (United Kingdom), Type B plug (Philippines, Peru), Type I plug (Australia, New Zealand), Type J plug (Switzerland), Type D plug (India), Type H plug (Israel), Type L plug (Italy and Chile), and Type K plug (Denmark). To order the AD-1000IEC with a different plug type/power cord, please request desired plug type in the special notes box on the order page.
