Proteam Supreme Plus (45 lb)

This product did an excellent job of raising our borates per the prescribed dosages and doing so while maintaining a relatively stable pH. The one thing that is not mentioned anywhere on the instructions that I found is the huge impact this product has on total alkalinity. We had to add several gallons of muriatic acid to lower our alkalinity after adding to our pool. For example, in our ~40K gallon pool, one 45 Lb bucket raised the total alkalinity about 50 ppm. It required about four gallons of 20 baume muriatic acid, added over a few days, to reduce the total alkalinity to zero net gain. We used a total of three 45Lb buckets to get out borates to about 50-60 ppm and about 12 gallons of acid to get the total alkalinity back to our original starting point of about 80 ppm.

We built our 30,000 saltwater pool in 2015. I wish I had known about this product sooner than last year. At the advice of Texsun pools we followed their advice to the T with getting the pool to chemical levels it should be before adding 2 45lb buckets of this product to our pool last summer. I was amazed at how well it helped maintained our ph and chlorine levels throughout last summer in the Houston sun and heat and just purchased 2 more buckets on my own this year through Amazon in hopes of having the same amazing results we had last summer!

Second year using this upon opening. Water is crystal clear. I plan I’m using again next year upon opening.

Price was good given the weight for shipping.I added the whole bucket to a 14k gallon pool which was enough to bring the borate level to where it should be.It helped with balancing the chemicals in a salt system pool.It also helped with drowning backswimmers (small annoying bugs) as it makes it difficult for them to breath.It is supposed to help with minimizing algae growth.Still about five times more expensive than using borax and acid to achieve the same results but is much more convenient.

I have a 10,000 gallon in ground salt water pool which is approximately 3 years old. With one spillway and a sheer descent that is only on when swimming, it has been impossible for me to maintain the pH at an acceptable level. I am typically adding 2 cups of acid every 1-2 days to maintain 7.6-7.8 pH range. I read a lot of good things about borates and ProTeam Supreme Plus came highly recommended. Before adding this product, I made sure that my pool chemistry was balanced. My pH was at 7.6 and my TA 80. Since adding the recommended dose of 3.5 lbs per 1000 gallons for longer lasting results, my pool chemistry has been out of control. Within 24 hours of adding, my TA spiked to 230. I have since been adding 4-5 cups of acid daily in order to lower the pH to 7.4 in an attempt to bring the TA down. Two and a half weeks later, I am stalled at a TA of 150 and am continuing to add acid at an abnormal rate. ProTeam Supreme Plus did nothing but make my situation worse.

Could not really see the difference. Or maybe its needed but I dont know

This chemical does wonders for your pool. I had issues with my Chlorine never registering in a test when i knew i had lots of it in the pool. Now my pool readings stay good and my pool clears up quickly after adding Pro Team.
