if you plan on using this with the shield, you will gain the play/pause/ff/rw, a menu button that works in kodi, actual volume buttons instead of the whack touch slider, and a full keyboard to type on and an air mouse. You will however lose the voice input ability. It is definitely worth it as an upgrade to the shield remote, but I probably would have went with the A2 for a little cheaper or something with backlit keys had i known that the voice button was not going to work.

Love it! Works with SkyStream III Plus and Nvidia Shield as well. Unlike the A-2 and A-2 Lite, and the airmouse that comes with the SkyStream III plus, the Minix A-3 has resolved its battery vampire problems. Batteries will last for a couple months in this rather than half a week to two weeks (batteries in remotes typically last for several months to a couple years).

Only had it for a day now so I can’t say if it will last but... this thing is soooooo much better than the Shield TV remote which I hate with a burning passion. The keyboard and the air mouse is pretty cool but even without that it is leaps and bounds better than the Shield remote.

Serious redesign needed. First failed out of the box (no lights/response at all), second works thus far. The device feels like an unfinished product, I opened it up to look for ways to repair the first one and the package looks like it was put together o a rush, board have all kinds of sharp edges and the welding needs some serious attention, no repair possible. The feel of the buttons is a loud click, this is no quiet remote. Battery last about 3 months with daily use.

I bought this unit to replace my MINIX NEO A2 remote because the A3 has voice input along with its other features. It works OK for voice input with my NVIDIA Shield TV, but I have to choose voice input on the Shield's screen to use it. The Shield's native remote will work anywhere. The A3's primary features are the QWERTY keyboard, the air mouse and the microphone input although the keyboard is not a full Window keyboard. It lacks Alt, Control and Windows functions. The function and cap locks keys are toggle on/toggle off with LED status indicators.The Shift key must be held down to while pressing a letter for upper case. One of the differences between the A2 and A3 is the latter lacks page-up and page-down functions.

One of the best Air mouse on the market IMHO!! I received one of these Air mouse with my Minix U9 ox and it is the most fluid air mouse I have used. So once I added another Android Box to my bedroom I went back to this Minix Air Mouse. It makes all the keyboarding tasks much more simple.

Worked great the first month. Then kept getting disconnected and I'd have to re-set up. Then even that stopped and the remote stopped altogether. No battery change, no reset connection could fix it.

The best Kodi remote ever, trust! I have tried several and this is without a doubt, the best. The air mouse feature is easy to control and the keyboard just works... flip it and type. I have a few of these and every one is as good as the rest.
