What a piece of junk!
All one star reviews for the Oregon Cordless PS250-A6 Pole Saw Kit with 4.0 Ah Battery and Standard Charger sold by Equipatron. After reading all of these reviews and getting in touch with Equipatron the second day to tell them it was dead. I've changed my mind, don't want this 400$ piece of junk replaced. Equipatron lied to me telling me I had to use the company warranty and couldn't return it. I have been a faithful customer of Amazon for yrs. I'm trusting they make the right decesion. Kinda disapppointed in them already being as they would allow this company to be a part of Amazon. That's not the kind of association they need. Waiting on Amazon to review my claim, my story, the truth. I will do everything in my power to spread this news far and wide if Amazon gives me the shaft. Along with considering leaving Amazon and finding another online service. That, I would like to avoid.Jim1 of: Oregon Cordless PS250-A6 Pole Saw Kit with 4.0 Ah Battery and Standard ChargerSold by: equipatron (seller profile)1.0 out of 5 starsI'm pretty sure this was a refurbished toolByJim Rickeyon July 7, 2018Style: 4.0Ah Battery pack Included|Verified PurchaseI'm pretty sure this was a refurbished tool. If you watch the instruction video each piece has a yellow sticker and all line up. The shaft andcollar had one and the motor housing was missing. Didn't pay much attention to that detail at the time. Came with a bad battery and aftercontacting seller found that they would do nothing. It has a warranty, deal with Oregon. After waiting for Oregon to send the good battery, only to find out the oiler doesn't work right. Went through two chains in two days, and looked into it. Gear that drives the oiler was not meshingwith the drive shaft. Barely making contact so therefore it only worked marginally. I've been on Amazon for yrs. and never had this problembefore. I could have went to Lowe's or Home Depot and returned it. Pay attention to your purchase. I've had to learn the hard way. Not dealingwith vendors that aren't aligned with Amazon's policies.Oregon Cordless PS250-A6 Pole Saw Kit with 4.0 Ah Battery and Standard ChargerStatement Equipatron has on their site. LOL.... They lowered the price so I decided to give it atry. Knowing about all the bad batteries I opened the box and just removed the battery and the charger. Sure enough I got the blinking orangelight of death. Put the charger and battery back in the box, taped it up and sent it on its way back. I really wanted to try this saw, guess Iwill have to wait until dewalt comes out with one.1.0 out of 5 starsHave to say good response from both Amazon and the companyByguitarboyon October 6, 2016Style: 4.0Ah Battery pack Included|Verified PurchaseAfter replacing 2 of the defective batteries if finally worked. Have to say good response from both Amazon and the company. When it is working itworks great. I spend more time fixing the tool than using it. If you extend the shaft it comes out of the part that holds the driveshaft, thenyou have to take it apart to make it work. I spend more time putting the chain on than cutting. Unfortunately, I cannot return. Buyer beware..0 out of 5 starsIt is super loud. You will need ear plugsByDouglas M. Knighton July 24, 2016Style: 4.0Ah Battery pack Included|Verified PurchaseThe saw arrived and required minimal assembly. Anyone familiar with a normal chainsaw should have the pole put together and bar and chainassembled in ~20min. The tool seems well built and is well balanced even with the pole fully extended. I went right to work and trimmed severallimbs off a live oak in the backyard for about 45 minutes of intermittent use. The 4.0 Ah battery pack indicated that I had used only half thebattery. Not bad.The next weekend I had a similar experience. About half an hour of use and the tool worked flawlessly.I was going to cut more limbs this weekend but the tool is dead. And Yes, the battery pack is fully charged and fully inserted. For an almost $400 tool it is needless to say, but I am very disappointed. Thetool is only about 2-3 weeks old and has a little over an hour of run time.Hopefully I just got a lemon and Oregon will replace/refund quickly. Ordered a second one the battery was no good. What do I do now1.0 out of 5 starsFlawed head..it will snap.ByAmazon Customeron July 2, 2018Style: 4.0Ah Battery pack IncludedIt is a fact that the "Cast Aluminum" head mount is flawed as some below pictures showed. Using as manual suggested, a 1.5 inch pine limb thatwas bottom cut and then going to top did swing and barely pinch the blade with an immediately snap of this aluminum plate. It looks like itconnected the dots from two set screws through the motor drive bore. Exactly like picture another submited. Examining, not even an Inch of metalleft after the machining has been done, an extremely brittle. This is going to happen if you put the saw to real use. As well, as I'm stuck withtool, I replaced the entire head assembly as could not just find this part. Straight forward, however, now having issues keeping head driveattached to shaft. For a 1/4 acre lot for once a year trim in a subdivision, not bad. But for real trimming on pasture edges, etc. there has tobe more robust tool. Good news I know where some weakness should be looked for as this was my first time with this power pole saw. Side note: apower pole saw and electric is a real pleasure to use. I'll have to check out Husqvarna or Stihl etc. to see what their units look like as far asbeing able to do some real cutting.

Lemon
Im giving the Oregon Pole Saw a 1 star. This doesn't reflect on the vendor just the quality of the Oregon Pole Saw just recently purchased. This is the 2nd Oregon PS-250 I've purchased. The first one lasted over 3 years without any major problems. This second one though has been a lemon from the start! I purchased this on December 16th via an Amazon related Dealer. I don't believe it's their problem since the pole-saw came in an original Oregon box and there is no indication of the box being opened beforehand, so this is strictly an Oregon quality issue. The first problem I had with the pole-saw was that the shaft kept on sliding out of the handle. I kept on reinserting and tightening the screws and it seemed finally to fix this problem. This happened after about 2 weeks of the purchase date. I should have returned it then to the seller since it was in the refund time, but I figured since the shaft finally had quit slipping it was something I had did?The second problem came just 4 days ago. I was cutting limbs and the pole-saw quit. I still had a full battery. I noticed that the electric engine was hot. I waited for about 40 minutes and it started working again. Yesterday, I was using it again and after I had used one battery and inserted the second one the pole saw quit entirely. I figured it had over heated again and quit work for the day. Today I went out and inserted a newly charged battery and zilch, nothing, the electric motor didn't do anything.I've called Oregon today and that are having someone call back to go through various technical solutions which then they say if no luck then I can travel to one of their nearest dealers. For me that's at least 40-60 miles away one way!In summary, I hate to say it, but I got sold an Lemon and now it looks like I'm getting played around with the warranty game by having to go through one of their registered dealer/sellers. Seems like they don't want to really stand behind their product and send me a replacement. Note: Depending on how things turn out I will come back and let other reviewers how things went, if possible.P.S. If they don't honor their product, it appears that I am now stuck with 3 Oregon 40V batteries and a re-charger!Sincerely,Jim G.04/02/2020 This is a follow up from my original 1 star review. I was finally able to contact Oregon Products, their technical person there, who I got on a second call, was able to resolve my problems. The person after going through some diagnostic questions, finally concluded that the housing motor was defective. The person then sent a replacement housing motor(the handle that has the motor and where you insert the battery) via express delivery. I received the replacement handle, installed it, and have been using the pole saw that past week or two without any problems. In summary, I have upgraded my original 1 star review to 3 stars(3.9 stars if the system allowed it), due to Oregon standing behind its product, although it took several phone calls. I guess I should have talked with the tech person first instead of regular customer service?????
