Just An Occasional Strait Buyer
I don't buy every George Strait album. I lean towards his greatest hits compilations. In my opinion, this entire album should be a greatest hits record. Every song has something, different, melody, strings, steel, etc. I drive a lot for a living, this CD is on the top of my play list.

I love George Strait's music! He has such a beautiful voice. It was a real treat to find a CD to add to my collection that didn't have any tracks on my other CDs. The CD arrived really quickly and I would certainly buy from ycousins2 again.

'George Strait' n'est pas l'album idéal pour commencer avec Sa Majesté George STRAIT
L'on me pardonnera de faire baisser légèrement la moyenne acquise mais il n'y a pas tant de disques de cet immense chanteur country qui soient commentés sur Amazon.fr et, compte tenu des deux avis mirobolants qui équipent ce CD-là, l'on pourrait croire qu'il s'agirait d'un achat prioritaire pour découvrir George STRAIT. C'est, bien sûr, un disque qui comporte quelques monuments tels 'Looking Out My Window Through The Pain' ou, beaucoup plus modeste, 'Go On' – deux titres qui figurent sur nombre de compilations récentes.À mon âge et vu l'ancienneté de mon addiction, j'imagine mal que l'on puisse soutenir que cet album homonyme (2000) soit un sommet de la fabuleuse carrière du "cowboy troubadour". Évidemment, c'est du très bon mais c'est sans doute l'un des albums les moins intéressants qu'il ait commis. Peu de relief – sinon un ou deux titres enlevés comme le hit-single 'Don't Make Me Come Over There and Love You' – et une certaine monotonie puisque c'est un disque bourré de ballades qui ne sont pas toutes inoubliables fors 'She Took The Wind From His Sails' qui, néanmoins, sonne comme un ersatz californien seventies aux harmonies FM. Pour faire simple, n'importe lequel de la vingtaine d'albums antérieurs est meilleur que celui-là et, de même, n'importe lequel de la dizaine qui viendra dans les années 2000. C'est dire !... Certes, c'est un album qui fut n°1 au Top Country Albums du Billboard... mais lequel des albums de George STRAIT n'a-t-il pas été n°1 ?... Si l'on tient à ce George STRAIT-là, celui de la fin du XXe siècle, 'Blue Clear Sky' voire 'Carrying Your Love With Me' sont infiniment plus recommandables.
