For the price these boards are good value but they're not perfect. They are matt black but they come with scuffs and scratches sometimes viewable and sometimes not. There are minor dents sometimes but usable for school or fair presentations. Order this item PACKAGED. Do not try to save the the environment as these items are shipped in a plastic wrapping that will suffer bumps and dents as they are delivered no matter how careful the deliverer tries to be. Hopefully it will come to you in a cardboard box for better protection and even better if it's the tailor made boxes.

This “Faux”m board was dollar store quality not the quality that you would get at a Michael’s or craft supply store. It lacked the card stock top layer even though it was fairly stiff the surface was foamLike. It served its purpose but I was disappointed as it was pricey and it wasn’t true foamcore board.

Mine came in good condition and the foam inside is black. I use it in combination with Dollar Tree black foam core because that one is white on the inside. So I use this one in places where I want all black showing. Otherwise, the dollar store version is better because of size.

I work with foam core a lot. This is the first time this ever happened. I don’t know if it’s the foam quality or the thickness of the paper covering the foam, but it is bad. Not for display! Unless you are using glue sticks only, it will wreck your project, Because the foam will warp and your photos with the foam disintegrating underneath. I’m going to return because it is not for display. All that work have to be redone now. Such a hassle.

These were great for the church displays I was making because I didn't have to cut them down and the middle foam is also black making for a nice effect. the only issue I had was that the corners are not sharp and they seemed to be dirty or dusty... but for the convenience factor I worked with it!

Over priced but good
