LED Light Strip Kit, Targher RGB LED Strip Waterproof SMD 5050 RGB 16.4Ft/5M 300 LEDs with 44Key Remote Controller and Power Supply for Holiday Party Outdoor Decoration

First off, I want to thank Targher for their fantastic customer service. I had an issue and they fixed it extremely quickly.So, first off, I love the LED strip. I have two minor issues with it. 1) White has a slight blue tint to it. Nothing major and doesn't affect the efficacy of the lights, but it is still worth noting. They are very bright and one strip is enough to light up my room, and if I wanted to be blind I could add another to finish my room off. The second is the adhesive on the back is just not that strong. This is both good and bad. The good is that it won't harm your wall, the bad is that it won't hold long term, at least not in my experience. A bit of strategically placed tape fixes that issue though. Both issues are notable but not deal breakers, and from what I've seen of my friends that have similar strips, it seems to be consistent across them. So I can forgive them. If this was just the strip, I'd probably have rated it a 5 because the strip is exactly what I want and need.The RGB control box however is another matter. My initial review after 6 months was 2 stars, because the original control box I had melted. Literally melted around the wires. They overheated and fried the circuit board. Now my first one didn't have much shielding around the wires at all. Specifically the RGB soldier points look fried. The replacement they sent me (very quickly I might add) seems far better shielded and I hope this will improve it. Even still I bought a more robust RGB controller (I've long considered making a Raspberry Pi controller, but I found one on Amazon that looked better and bought that). That said, I'm very happy with my replacement, and until my other control box arrives, this one seems in working order and better built than my original. Though it did take some fidgeting of the plug before it would work. So that is also something to keep in mind. The first one had the same issue. The remote of my original was also far lower in quality compared to the replacement as that fell apart within a few weeks but still functioned so I just kept using it...Overall, I'm very satisfied with this kit and with this company. However for long term I'd probably say to either build or buy a higher quality control box. The one it comes with works, and is effective, but considering the build quality of the first one, I cannot fully say it instills me with complete confidence.Update 2: Alright, so I've had these lights for almost a year. One series of lights blue LEDs went out (so I had 3 yellow lights among all white strip). I emailed their customer service and after sending them a picture of the offending LEDs they opted to send me an entirely new set. I cannot speak highly enough of this company's customer service. Honestly fantastic company and prompt service. They have a good product and are willing to stand behind it.

Looks like I'll be returning these for the same reason everyone else is, you press a few buttons on the remote, and either it, or the receiver dies. I even went and spent an extra $8 on new remote batteries, before reading the 1* reviews. Not to mention the adhesive comes off with the paper backing, so you'll have figure something out to hang them.*Refund Received.UPDATE 1/10/18After buying a new receiver, the lights work great. So great, I bought a few more sets (from other sellers to avoid the dead receivers) and found out the hard way not all strips are the same. This strip has the RGB LEDs grouped, so that the colors are on the strip (press orange, the strip turns orange). The other sets have separate RGB LEDs, which work great to project the colors, but don't look as cool (Press orange, and red and green light up). These lights are much better for if the strip is going to be in direct view.**UPDATE #2**After sitting outside in temps from over 100* to -20, and being used ~12 hours a night, and me accidentally clipping it with the string trimmer, they lasted about two years. TBH I’m not sure if it was the string, the controller, or the power supply that went - I threw the whole shebang in the trash, to be replaced in the spring.***UPDATE #3***I bought three more sets of these. ALL THREE CONTROLLERS DIED. First one was stuck on demo - pitched it. Second lasted ~20 hours - in the bin it went. Third lasted ~20hours. Died tonight (5/1/20)The strips themselves are pretty awesome (hence two stars), but the supplied controller is utter shite. Do yourself a favor and just by a better controller when you order these.

This product is everything I could have asked for. I saw on multiple other products listed that they didn't come with the power adapter needed to make the lights works. Thankfully this one does and it's only a few dollars more than the others. Well worth skipping the hassle of making multiple orders to make one thing work. The remote on this product is also a pleasant addition. I use my lights as studio lights to help with vlogging so being able to dim and brighten them to match ambient light in a room is a great asset. I haven't had a problem with the adhesive on the back of the lights either. Just so long as whatever your sticking them to is a clean and smooth surface that doesn't curve. Otherwise you'd have to cut the lights and solder them to keep the connection.

I bought these to replace some old rope lighting over my cabinets in the kitchen. I was excited to be able to use different colors. I finally got around to climbing up the ladder and walking on my counters to get them up there, and then, the remote does not want to work. I get it to work a couple of times and then nothing. I have read the questions and answers, so tried fixing the connection, making sure the receiver was unblocked . Finally it was working with me up on the ladder, so I ever so carefully left it undisturbed, but when I got down, NOTHING. I can't keep climbing up and down the ladder..so these are useless to me.So I am going to update my review. Company sent a me new remote and it works great. Love the ability to change colors and brightness.

I was really looking forward to my LED strips for my room, unfortunately, after putting together the kit properly, the white 12 volt connector seemed to not work. This was frustrating, I tried for around 15 minutes to fix the strip, plugging into different sockets and with different voltages.The connector did not work no matter what I did, and I am assuming this must happen a lot, considering all of the videos on YouTube about it. Will definitely take my business elsewhere next time.
