Proudly made in the USA from a single piece of Beech wood, these hand-turned hardwood bowls from Holland Bowl Mill master craftsmen are of the highest quality. Wood Bowls also make excellent surfaces for Decorative Painting, Rosemaling, Tole Painting, or you can use the bowls just as they are. However, if you are using them as salad bowls make sure to protect your hardwood bowls with a salad bowl preserver, such as our world famous Bee's Oil Wood Preserver, or season them with mineral oil. Our wood bowls are dried and turned using traditional old world methods. This means that the bowls are turned when "green" or wet and then dried. Due to this method no bowls are perfectly round. Grains will vary from pictures shown, hand wash and dry only

The best and Worth the price
What a fabulous salad bowl. Just the right size for large and small salads. Very easy to toss evenly with dressing without losing any out the side. I’ve made vegetable salads and pasta salads too. After sealing the wood with mineral oil, I never wash with soap but rinse and dry to develop a beautiful patina. I have had mine for many years. I have given these as wedding gifts and housewarming gifts. Everyone loves them and they tell me they have gone on to give them as gifts too.

This bowl is beautiful. I gave it an initial coat of wood butter which is soaked in almost immediately. Doing this not only protects the wood but brings out the natural wood grain. I will get many years of use from this bowl.

Fantastic Price On A Solid Wooden Bowl !
I recently purchased a 15-inch maple salad bowl from Holland Bowl Mill for $149 and was incredibly impressed with the quality. The finish was natural with only the "Bee Oil" the company sells and uses to finish and condition their bowls. The 17-inch finished bowls were double the price on the company website which would have been a lot for a first time purchase from a company. When I saw this 17-inch unfinished Beechwood bowl at such a fantastic price, I immediately ordered it. I've just finished conditioning the wood with Bee Oil and am so impressed. It is big and beautiful and the price was so, so right for a future family heirloom. The bowl arrived in perfect condition, the surface as smooth as silk, ready for whatever finishing application you wish to apply. I highly recommend the Bee Oil for a spectacular natural finish which will deepen the beech to a pale golden glow over time. So happy I found this and bought it.
