OtterBox Symmetry Series Hybrid Case for Samsung Galaxy J7 and J7 V - Black

My old phone case wore out from use.

It took me a while to review this product because I wasn't willing to openly abuse the phone the way that I did with the Defender. I didn't have the confidence in this model that I did with the Defender that had on my S3. With the Defender I was a walking, talking infomercial for Otterbox products, openly dropping the phone on hard surfaces, throwing it across the room to prove how tough it was. Especially to my sister-in-law who has easily cracked a half-dozen screens;-) Well, I forgot the old S3 along with my trusty Otterbox Defender on the roof of my wife's car, and let's just say that I now have a Samsung Galaxy SkyPro J7. I found out pretty quickly that Otterbox doesn't make a Defender for the new model of phone, and I was left with this one. The reviews that I read on the Symmetry, and how it was designed and constructed didn't inspire as much confidence and I suddenly stopped demonstrating how tough Otterbox's products were. It finally happened, I dropped the phone down on to the pavement from a height of 4.5 to 5', and it hit vertical and right on the corner of the case. I picked it, hit the prompt button, and all was well! And I did the exact same thing a couple days later, it passed the test, A+, give it 5 stars. Some have a made a big deal about this case not having a screen protector, but let me say this, a tempered glass screen protector is way better than the cheesy piece of plastic that comes on the Defender. After 2.5 years of use, the plastic screen protector was scratched, gouged, and pretty beat up looking. You could see through just fine, but turn it, and the damage was really noticeable. Tempered glass gets beat up, just replace it and move along smartly, you can't do that with the Defender. This case is way better ergonomically than is a Defender, not nearly as big and clunky, not sure if it's as tough, but that and the tempered glass screen cover make this a tough combination to beat.

This fit perfectly on my Samsung Galaxy j7 sky pro. it is a very strong case, and after having for a while i definitely have put it through a lot.

This product feels like it is durable and it's pretty light. If does have weight to it so you will notice your phone is slightly heavier then usual but pretty much the same weight. Putting the case on was really easy. I've tried twice already to find a case that fit my phone, it's not a super fancy or expensive phone. It's a galaxy J7, but amazon was against me in finding a good case. So when I put this case on I thought it was too good to be true. When I looked at the phone when laying it flat ok the side opposite of the screen with the case on I was frustrated because it appeared the case was bending my phone. After some investigation I realized it was simply the case that looked bent because the edges on the screen side of the case has curved edges when looked at from a side view. Which is good because it means that if the phone were to fall screen side down it is far less likely for the screen to make contact with the ground.

New cover for Samsung J7 works well. Would recommend.

The name is really misleading. Maybe better if they put the model numbers of exactly what galaxy J7 it works for. It fits the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime G610F/DS but its slightly off all around. Really have to push to make the buttons work and it squishes the otterbox inwards - which is a little weird as all the symmetry cases I have purchased for other phones have been pretty solid - this one is quite easy to squish. Overall, not the best otterbox I've ever purchased seems weaker/less quality then ithers I've purchased

Product description was slightly misleading, indicated it was compatible with the J3 Prime as i have a Galaxy J3 Prime but it was way too big to fit. Instead of this (model#77-55404). You will need (model#77-54846) which says is compatible with the Galaxy J3 Prime. Other than this the case looks well built and should provide good protection, wish it had at least port covers though to keep out dust and debris. You may also want a screen protector if you want full phone protection on the off chance that you may drop it face down in a gravel driveway or on a sharp object or scratch the screen. Amazon was great though as they gave me a full refund the next day!

This product DOES NOT fit a Samsung Galaxy J7...and I’m expected to pay shipping costs to return a product that was advertised falsely?
