Cheap watch with nice features
Whilst this is a cheap watch, both in price and feel, it does exactly what I bought it for. Living by the coast, I bought this for the tide and moon phase functions. The 'setting up' process for tides in a given location is a bit arduous, but straight forward with the instruction booklet provided. It doesn't give tide times, or times to the next high/low tide like some more expensive watches. However, the approximate 'wave form' indication of where the tide cycle is, is enough for me. Time, day and date displays are as you'd expect, but I found the 'light' function next to useless...not an issue for me. Can't comment on the other functions as I've not used them. Overall, for the money paid, I'm totally satisfied.

Possibly my favourite Casio of any iteration yet…
Super intuitive to use. Easy enough to set up the tide and moon phase functions once you refer to the manual. Love the novelty of these two complications. The blue used in the case and strap really pops. Really legible. Comfy to wear. Is it too cheap perhaps?!

A Moonphaser's Dream!
Got this cheap watch for £25 to see what a moon phasing watch can do. After looking at all kinds of moon phasing watches since purchase I can not see a better way to view the moon by wrist. Its main attribute is at set-up when you enter Lunitidal Interval data which is three numbers. In the booklet provided there are 39 locations with those three numbers. The first relates to GMT, the second is longitude and the third lunitidal interval (hours/minutes). London is therefore 0 then 0°E then 1:10. How could any non-digital watch compete with that? But my first big impression came from the stand it came supplied with. Bedside perfect. And you can see in video booklet enclosed. The night light works a treat and can be set for duration on. The tide condition could not be easier to see and the booklet explains how it works according to the Location settings you set. But its being able to run through future moon positions that tickled me. Using my wall calendar I could see next full moon comes a day before the calendar and lasts 4 or five days. See video. Although a chunky watch it only weighs some 49.53g and states 10 Year Battery on its face. Philosophically it puts me between two stools. The one is natural connecting with where you are by looking at the moon and the stars and the birds and the trees, the other is doing the same thing scientifically, electronically. Of course I do not see the research and development required for me to wear the tide time and moon position. Just like I do not see the cause of the movements of matter. It also tells the time and gives day and date (US order). Or you could look up at the position of the sun. Australians do that. Sydney is in the Booklet. Doh!

Waterproof timepiece .
Fitted to my pfd for kayaking. Takes a bit of setting up but works well, easy to read, waterproof so far even after rolling in the sea.

It's ok but tide and moon are novelties
Ok as a basic watch it's a decent Casio. The light is one step up from the famously nasty one on the cheapest old models. It's a pleasing orange glow. The thing is you're probably buying it for the tide and moon phase info and these are not great. I thought i could easily find the special lunitidal interval number for where i wanted to monitor by searching online. I should have searched before i bought it because i couldn't find it. You can calculate it yourself but it doesn't seem to tally with official tide charts when you use it. The moon phase is ok but like the tide chart it's a display with a limited number of segments so you're only getting a rough idea. It can tell you the moon age in days on a mode screen but it only seems to change once per day so mine has been saying 10.1 all day then 11.1 the next day. It can't tell you the moon phase in percent. Also the fact there's a mode for tide and moon is annoying because it's the first mode after normal time and date so you have to go past it every time to use the stop watch, timer, alarm or dual time. So to sum up you can buy this if you want a reliable Casio with some extra detail on the face but you can't afford a g shock.

Bought this Casio moon phase watch for my husband. He loves the watch. Size is nice, comfortable. Time is easy to set up and looks stylish. Highly recommend.

My everyday watch is an Omega Seamaster. Not gonna lie, this watch isn’t going to win any awards — it’s a cheap tool watch, which is the reason I bought it. And for CAD$28, you can’t go wrong for a measuring instrument. It measures time, has alarms/timer/additional time zone features, and it also graphs the tides and moon cycles/phases, which is why I bought it; incredibly useful info for ocean kayaking and astrophotography, to avoid getting stuck in sand banks and avoid nights where the moon may be ruining your star shots (or to plan for moon gazing), respectively. Contrary to some reviews on here, I found it easy to setup and Casio provides all the info you need (instruction booklet), and setting up the tide feature was a breeze. Don’t expect greatness for this price, it feels how it looks: a sturdy plastic almost toy-looking beefy watch, but the value is incredible, with all things considered. Casio has a couple other models with tide/moon features, and they run at roughly $100 and $250, and like any “upgraded” products, will have better LED, solar-charge, etc. Hope this helps!

Works great. Tide function needs a bit of trial and error setting to get tides right for your area, but once you get it right it works flawlessly. It’s an accurate timepiece too and I really love the moon phase feature for fishing planning.
