Great for Quail!
This brooder has been great for my bobwhite chicks. I even had the last egg hatch in the brooder with some wet paper towels (not recommending that, just what happened with my hatch). I am glad it came with a humidity and temperature gauge. Always keep in mind that the center of the brooder will be warmer than the thermometer reads. The water dispenser and food buckets were perfect size for my quail but may be small for other chicks. Pretty simple set up.

Small but works well for the first 2 weeks.
It is great to get chicks started. First couple weeks. It is really easy to set up and keep the right temp right under the lamp. First 2 weeks are critical for chick survival and this little box helps a lot to keep them warm. This lamp also only eats about 60 watts so it is very efficient and safer to use than the other style heat lamp.It is a very small brooder. It will not fit 10+ chicks. I only had 3 in it and after 2 weeks they needed more space. Itll work, but might cause stress to the chicks. Commercial brooders are a lot worse.I use it to quarantine older chicks if needed.

Styrofoam melts with a heatlamp
It is made of styrofoam with a thin plastic veneer. Im not sure how you are supposed to clean it after birds have been in it. i put it together an hour ago and the light that came with it was literally burning the inside of the box. the lid doesnt actually close and the plexglass doesnt sit in any ridge so it just flexes in and out on the front at the bottom where the birds are supposed to be. i will be returning. Is not easy to assemble. Its design is severely flawed with weak materials. its 1 step above a temu item. if it in fact isnt a temu item.

Nice item….but damaged.
Item as described. Looks sturdy and seems to serve the purpose intended. One of the looking glass is cracked. Package was intact and not damaged so it leads me to believe it was cracked at warehouse and still packaged like that. Otherwise nice item. Amazon would not provide other options to see if they could just replace the cracked looking glass and i needed the brooder which is why i decided to just keep it. Otherwise i would have contacted seller for juat the glass replacement and have given 5 stars.

Great Little Brooder Box!
I opened the box 30 minutes ago. It is completely assembled! It came with minimal instructions, but fits together perfectly, not needing much more than the pictures they sent. There are plenty of screws and I used the pointed screws for the "wooden" box assembly. The bolts (not pointed) I put in all four holes of the hinges with the nuts that match. The shortest four pointed screws I used to mount the light. The light comes with two bulbs. I tested the rheo-stat wafter I put in the bulb and plugged it in and all were in working order. The plastic hinged roof and front wall are not transparent. The front wall plastic also has black and red writing on it and not at all pretty! It comes with a handy thermometer and % humidity. The battery is already in it! The box is not white, but, lavender. I am going to paint the red and black plastic piece and make it adorable using I.O.D. stamps. It will be adorable when I customize it! My first brooder box! My first chicks!

Cute and functional but small!
This is a nice little brooder! I couldn’t give it five stars though because firstly the instructions to put it together are terrible. Very vague. Second, this thing is not big enough for even 5 chicks to live in until they get feathers. I have three in it and they look huge despite being only 1-2 days old. It will do what I need it to for now but I wish I had ordered the bigger version.

Great for raising chicks (especially small ones)
This thing is amazing. We were having difficulty raising our button quail prior to this... having this brooder makes it so easy. We can put chicks in it as well, it's great to have the heat lamp built in and everything. I don't know that I'd put 10-15 full size chicks in it for very long, though for a week or so it would be good. We love it and it's the perfect size to raise our button quail chicks.

Really small and hard to regulate temp
This thing is small, really small. We had six eggs set but only three chicks hatch and thankfully just the three, by day 4 I moved them out because there just wasn’t enough room for them. One of them is even a small silkie chick. The temperature regulation has also been a major struggle. The thermometer on the front is hard to read and inaccurate anyway. I used a Govee WiFi thermometer to help but it was still a constant battle of turning the light up and down all day and night. I wanted to just turn the light off and put in a heat plate instead but the box is way too small for even my small heat plate that only four to six chicks fit under comfortably. I got this on sale and I’m glad I did, it wasn’t worth what I paid and I would’ve been even more annoyed if I had paid more for it. It might be useful to use to isolate a single chick or two but it won’t be useful to put more than that for more than a few days.It was easy enough to put together. It’s easy to clean. It does function as far as turning on and off. The little water container is ok and the chicks use it but it’s also too small to use for more than a week or so. The feed bowl works fine but my chicks have preferred to go all the way into it and sometimes sleep in it.
