Hayward 100 Penguin Suction Above-Ground Pool Cleaner (Automatic Pool Vacuum)

Works really good. Newer models are the same just more expensive. This will stop moving if it gets sand or grit into the moving parts. Generally it gets jammed after drying out. You'll need to become familiar with how to disassemble it to clean it out.

The media could not be loaded. This little guy has done an amazing job getting and keeping our pool clean. A week ago, you couldn’t seethe bottom. The combination of good chemicals and this cleaner you can see it is crystal clear and sparkling clean. We had to do a little improvising to hook it up to our pool. My handy husband drilled a hole in the cap thatcame with the pool and inserted a cone adapter. We could then could hook the cleaner to the cone adapter. Works like a charm.

I cannot say that I am really impressed with my Penguin Pool Cleaner. If you have any sort of semi-strong outlet or current going and it grabs the hose off penguin goes sideways, tipping over and never corrects itself. Maybe if it was a little heavier that wouldn't happen. I'm finding that I have to go correct it every 15 min or so to make sure it's doing what it's supposed to do.

Second one of these cleaners I have owned. The first on lasted 15 years (with a couple re-builds). It works great on my vinyl liner pool. Easy to use, easy to fix, if you need to, and it's cute. Grandson loves it!

This little guy has made our lives much easier. We use him in our inground fiberglass pool and he does an amazing job. Saves us hours of daily work and keeps our pool looking great! Pool only goes from 3 1/2 feet to 5 1/2 feet and he can manage that small change well. Worth every penny!

Once you figure out how to get the right suction (you have to turn the penguin up side down to get out all the air) he takes off at the bottom of the pool. It's pretty time consuming assembling and disassembling all the tubes before and after but it beats having to manually vacuum the pool floor. Does a great job in navigating the entire pool floor. I've used it all Summer long and very happy with my purchase. It allows me to do other things instead of doing necessary pool maintenance. Loved my penguin pool cleaner!

My only complaint is that the stickers for his eyes would not peel off of the paper, so he has no eyes. Other than that he works great. We have a vinyl above ground pool and he does a really good job.Very Happy
