Curél Hydra Therapy Itch Defense Wet Skin Moisturizer

I've struggled with dry skin for years, especially after showering. No matter what body lotion I used, I'd either forget to put it on or I'd end up standing around waiting for it to soak in before getting dressed. This completely solved that problem. The idea of applying lotion while your skin is still wet sounded a little strange at first, but now I actually prefer it. I smooth it on before getting out of the shower, rinse lightly as directed, and then just towel off like normal. My skin immediately feels softer without that heavy, greasy feeling some lotions leave behind. The biggest difference has been my legs and elbows. They used to get that dry, itchy feeling by the end of the day, especially during the winter. Since using this, they've stayed moisturized all day, and I haven't been reaching for extra lotion before bed. Another thing I love is that it doesn't leave my towels feeling oily or my bathroom floor slippery. It rinses just enough while still leaving behind plenty of moisture. The scent is very light and clean, which I appreciate because it doesn't compete with perfume or body spray. If you have sensitive skin or just don't like heavily fragranced products, this is a huge plus. It's one of those products that seems almost too simple, but it really works. My skin feels noticeably healthier, smoother, and more comfortable, and because it's part of my shower routine, I actually remember to use it consistently. If you have dry or extra-dry skin, I highly recommend giving this a try. It's become one of those products I never want to run out of.

So easy to use. Just finish your shower and before drying your skin, apply it. The consistency is light. As an in-shower moisturizer is highly versatile because it bypasses the need for traditional, post-shower creams. Activated by water, they sink instantly into open pores, allowing them to act as a water-activated skin barrier, an anti-itch treatment, or even a lazy-day shortcut. Your skin will thank you, the hydration is just unbelievable! The skin feels velvety. No strong, fragrance, not greasy at all. It's a big bottle, it will last you for a while.

This is my go-to lotion, I always make sure I have some of this on hand, even if I branch out and try other brands. This lotion, I’ve been using for years and hasn’t let me down. My skin always feels silky smooth after using. I only need to reapply I’d say after showers and washing hands, it seemed to keep my skin nice and moisturized for a while. Although, I couldn’t speak for anyone else, I’m the only one in the house who uses lotion. I also have sensitive skin that breaks out on occasion with eczema, I find this lotion to be so helpful in the recovery process when I need to keep it moist manually, but no longer needs neosporean. The smell is mild enough that I think it’s perfect, not strong and not fake or medical. Bottle size is, alright, I would prefer slightly bigger but i understand times are tight for everyone. All in all, I still think it’s worth the price.

I’ve used traditional lotions for years and the process of applying and rubbing it in is truly daunting. I decided to try in shower lotions rather than my usual traditional lotion to try and save time in the morning. I chose this Curel lotion because it contains ceramides, which are essential for your skin’s moisture barrier. It is fragrance free and applies very easily. The consistency is thick and creamy, and the color is white. A little goes a long way; it only takes 5 or 6 pumps to cover my entire body (minus my face). It is non greasy after you dry it from your skin, and there is no residue or sticky feeling once your skin is dry. It is very easy to towel dry the excess from your body, leaving behind smooth and supple skin. The value is good for the money. My only complaint and the reason that I will not repurchase is that this lotion tends to make your towel smell dingy and icky, almost like mildew. It also causes my towel to have a greasy, heavy feeling. I hang my towel to dry to reuse it and only launder it about once a week. If you’re that kind of person, I would not recommend this product. If you use a new towel every time that you shower, I say go for it. Every other aspect of this lotion is great; I deducted one star only for the smelly towel. I replaced this product in my skincare routine with Nivea in shower lotion, which has a rinse off formula rather than a towel dry one. So far, so good.

I received this 2 days ago and haved used it both nights. I apply it in the shower while still wet. It spreads easily and I detect absolutely no fragrance. The first night I think I applied too much (used the same amount as body lotion on damp skin) and it took a bit of time to get it all absorbed. The next night I used only about a quarter of the amount as I used the first night and it was much better. My skin feels so hydrated and soft, even the next morning. There's no stickiness but I can definitely feel that I've lotioned up. I feel like this locks the moisture in since it's applied to wet skin. I kinda miss the fragrance of a fresh feminine scented lotion as I'm someone who loves fragrance in my skincare. But it seems like a great product for intense moisturizing. I recommend it.

Easy to put on (great if you have arthritis or if you tired easily). Lasts all day. Very moisturizing. I even use it on my face. Doesn't break me out (like everything else). Compared to Nivea's Shower Lotion - Thicker and No chemical smell. I will purchase again.

TL;DR: So this product is marked misleadingly you’ll receive the sensitive skin fragrance free variety (bottle in picture), not the Itch Defense variety. Still, I bought this for someone with dry skin/kidney issues who DESPISES moisturizing and they now use it everyday. 10/10 for a fussy user in Chicago winter. I bought this product for someone who hates moisturizing. We live in Chicago and the combo of dry winter air + heat + and a health condition (affecting kidney fxn) meant that this person was dealing with super itchy skin. My goal was to find a product that didn’t need to be babied to work right; this fit the bill and more. The texture is more similar to body wash. You can haphazardly slather it on and the end of your shower and literally wipe it right off afterwards as you towel dry. You don’t have to deal with shivering in a cold bathroom and massaging in an ice cold lotion like other brands. It also feels like a gel lotion but moisturizes with the might of a thick cream. The bottle is a decent size. Used daily for a tall, 6 ft person, I think I’d have to replace every 2 months. I may try the actual itch defense variety next, but was pleasantly surprised by the sensitive skin variety that effectively stopped his itching. It’s nice that the product is available here as I haven’t seen it in stores. This in-shower lotion seems more akin to “medical” brands like cetaphil/Eucerin/vanicream than something scented and cosmetic like Nivea. No bells or whistles here I don’t often leave reviews. But this product was a solution that resoundingly solved a long-term issue of itchiness during a stressful time. I’m a forever fan!

I have sensitive skin that also tends to be dry. I've tried any number of moisturizing products over the years. Even the unscented ones for sensitive skin tended to cause my skin to itch or burn when I toweled off and applied them after a shower. I decided to try something that I could apply in the shower, but was concerned I'd have an greasy mess left on my towel. I researched products and liked what I read about Curel Hydra Therapy In Shower Lotion. It got very good reviews, and it turns out they were well deserved. I LOVE this product. My skin looks and feels better than it has in years, and Curel doesn't cause me to itch. Also, it leaves NO mess on the towel. I don't know how it works, but it does.

Easier way to moisturize body for those with textural sensitivities. Left the skin feeling soft yet non-greasy. Holy grail body lotion!

Best wet-skin moisturizing product. I have tried many others (i.e. Neutrogena's in-shower oil) — this beats them all.

I hate regular moisturiser because it is either oily or sticky although most of the products claim that it is water based/fast drying/not sticky/not oily and I have never like applying them. This wet skin moisturiser however, is a game changer! It can be a little strange to use at first because you can definitely feel a layer of moisturiser/oiliness after applying on your wet skin. And the thought of drying up a layer of moisturiser with your towel can be a little... weird? But my skin feels soft and moisturised after towel dry and definitely not sticky/oily AT ALL! Love it! If your skin is crying for moisture but you hate regular moisturiser, try this! Just wash your towel more often than usual 😬
