What can you say about an electrical outlet cover plate? It’s white. It’s unbreakable. It covers the electrical box opening and keeps out curious little fingers and people that have no business poking around anything electrical. It’s non-conductive (always good for something isolating live electric current). It even comes with its own color matching mounting screw! It doesn’t need any batteries. It will last longer than your marriage (maybe not very long if you go nosing around behind it without knowing what you’re doing).Apparently there’s quite a bit that can be said about a cover plate. I’ll just stop here and let you bask in the appreciation of a simple item that doesn’t cost much and yet does an important job. Stay safe (and keep your fingers out of it).

I had to buy a white outlet cover, because an old, plastic one crumbled. I went with the same brand, Leviton, because I wanted it to still match with others in the room. I don't know how old the broken one was. It was here before I moved in. But this new one looks just the same. It fit on perfectly, and it was very easy to install.As for price, I got the 10 pack for $3.85. That comes to 38.5 cents per unit. My local Home Depot charges 48 cents per unit. I'm pleased with the price for that reason. Although I only needed one outlet cover, I figure having more on hand is a fine idea. After all, the others are likely just as old, and might need replacing soon.
