Revell F-102A Delta Dagger Plastic Model Kit

It's hard to criticize Revell's F-102 for one reason, it's the only 102 available in 1/48 scale. (The Encore model is this model with some resin and photoetch additions.)I love some Revell models and hate others. This one is not terrible, but it is work. It will build into a decent airplane, but be prepared to do some filling and sanding. Looking across the internet, one can find some beautiful examples of the completed Deuce. However, I would only recommend it for someone with experience and patience.The negatives: Very visible gaps at the vertical stabilizer (starboard side), wing to fuselage joints, and intake ducts; difficult to assemble Falcon missiles which lack the white stripe decals for the fins; a weird bending assembly of the main gear scissors and gear door linkage; and (no fault of Revell) a seeming inability to find chromate green paint for the interior parts. In reference to the last, make sure you order some gloss aircraft gray aka ADC gray (FS16473) and chromate green prior to beginning. If you have the money, you might consider substituting some Falcons from the Hasegawa weapons kit.The positives: It is big and pretty when done. The exposed missile rails and Falcons are attention grabbers. It will sit well with your other Century Series fighters. It is the only girl in town.P.S. If you're really an F-102 fan and it matters for your particular aircraft , this molding is the Case XX wing, not the Case X wingP.P.S. I wish they had given the option of PA Air National Guard Decals. The black spine and tail were striking.

This is a real good model of the 102 "Deuce." It is well constructed, instructions are clear and information about paint colors and decals are very good. I've taken a lot of time to put it together, so glad I had it during the pandemic.
