Wider than standard Okabashi sandals
Despite the hundreds of reviews pointing out to the mfg that their switch to recycled plastic has been a dismal failure - what used to last several years now can barely last through two or three seasons of wear - Okabashi has not made any improvements to their regular sandal. I have worn Okabashi for decades but decided to try the Torino despite mixed reviews, to see if they will last longer.Just received them and noted the fit is quite different than the standard sandal. They are flatter in height (good) but longer and wider (bad) in comparison. Not so much that I can't wear them, so I'll give them a try and see how long they last. My regular Okabashis are, of course, starting to crack and will become unwearable soon.I'll update this to report on how long the Torino lasts, but wanted to post this to emphasize the size/fit of the Torino differs noticeably from the standard Okabashi slip-on sandals.

Make great house slippers
I go to a lot of department stores and I see the slippers they have on sale. The slippers I see are...1. Too furry as they make your feet too hot. Your feet smell and at worse case scenario, all the fur in those house slippers give you foot and nail fungus as your feet can't breathe in all the fur.2. You feet sweat in a lot of current house slippers that are available3. Uncomfortable as the materials many manufactures make their slippers from are of poor quality4. Many slippers sold at department stores are not durable. At one time I bought a pair of name brand slippers (forgot the brand), and within 3 months the slippers tore up to the point I could not wear them anymore.Right now Okabashi sandals or house slippers are the only and I stress ONLY decent brand of house slippers that are worth buying. I've been buying Okabashi for about 12 years and very happy with this brand. The average life span of Okabashi I buy have been from 3 to 4 years long before I had to replace them. Right now Okabashi are the only brand of house slippers that are....1. Durable2. Comfortable3. Don't get your feet too hot or cause your feet to get foot fungus4. Can wear with socks comfortably if your feet do get cold5. Last at least 2 to 3 years before you have to buy new ones6. Versatile. The rest of these other house slippers with fur, slipper soles, poor quality, lack of durability as they fall apart in 3 months or less and just flat our uncomfortable are not worth buying . Okabashi in my opinion are the BEST house slippers around.

Okabashi used to be a lot better
I have been buying Okabashi shoes for many years. They used to be very good and comfortable a long time ago. However, they slowly deteriorated throughout the years. The most recent Torino is most uncomfortable. It has no heal support. If I can find a similar product made by another manufacturer, I will return these Torinos. I really hope Okabashi improves their design, and make products like they used to. Otherwise, I will not buy from them again.

These don't work for me.
I've had Okabashi sandals before and they were very good. For some reason (and it's probably my foot...although none of my other brands of sandals have this problem) only half of my heel will stay on the sandal heel. Half of it overhangs.....constantly. Nothing I do will keep these things on comfortably. Other purchasers may not have this problem....I never did until I bought this pair. I won't be purchasing Okabashi sandals again......but that doesn't necessarily mean that you shouldn't either.

I like Okabashi sandals but this is a flawed design and ...
I've had the same experience as other reviewers with two pairs of these sandals cracking and splitting at the woven look top section. The newest pair were were purchased through Amazon in November 2015 and lasted less than four months before cracking and splitting. Generally, I like Okabashi sandals but this is a flawed design and should be avoided.

Edited: Exceptional comfort, but durability a problem.
I had been looking a good pair of sandals. I had a pair of single piece PVC foam Reeboks I bought several years ago that were looking worn. I could find nothing like them, so I thought I would try these as their appearance is more flexible with different clothing. They look more casual than athletic.I was hesitant to try them because of many reviews noting an issue with durability.I purchased these in August and have worn them daily (I find it hard to walk in bare feet and wear sandals frequently). I have had no trouble so far, they are holding up well. They are very comfortable once the short break-in period is done.Comfortable, durable so far, they look good, and at a fair price.Updated: August of 2014, the cracks mentioned by other reviewers show up in the right-foot sandal, at the top over the bridge of the foot. Very comfortable sandals, but they just don't last.

far inferior product than in the past
i've been using Okabashi's for many years, I keep buying them because the shoe is so comfortable (good arch support) despite the fact they only last 1 yr at most. I've had several kinds of okabashi's, but Torino model was the most comfortable for wearing around the house.HOWEVER, these new ones have changed significantly from the past. first and foremost, these don't have half the arch support that the previous ones had. these are no longer comfortable. I've tried a coupld of other models from walgreens too, all the same - poor arch support. for this reason along, i returned this show. moreover, they seem like they're made a cheap material now, it feels really sticky and does not seem like it would last very long also.I've been extremely disappointed at Okabashi's recent changes!
