Great idea and lots of optional add-on pieces for different guns.
Update tip: The battery packs are just 3 LR726 watch batteries. You can 'roll your own' by buying a 15 pack Energizer 396/397 Silver Oxide here on Amazon, (which lasts longer than the alkaline LR726) for $11.95 or roughly 79 cents a piece. The 396/397 translates into SR726SW / SR726W. So it's the same battery, just Energizer's silver oxide version, (the 726 represents the physical size of 7.xx by 2.6 mm). So this will make 5 battery packs. You just need a strip of scotch tape to hold them together and insulate them from the metal housing. Cheap and easy. While the battery pack seems to last a long time for trigger pulls, no doubt using the bore sight cap (laser stays on) will eat through batteries pretty quick while trying to make sight adjustments. I have one on order which is why I also ordered these batteries.Normally you should not continuously dry-fire guns without using 'caps,' which is what the firing pin will strike. The end cap that comes with this works just like an ordinary cap and protects the firing pin. So fire away without worrying about the firing pin.Works great. Nothing at all to complain about. Great choice of optional replacement end cap pieces (you change out the end caps on the laser) for different calibers and I wish Amazon had the full selection, but you can get them from the company website. It comes with some reflective targets but I like the optional electronic one they sell that pings when you hit it and counts the number of hits (plus other options). There's an optional Glock reset trigger available (Glock get all the cool accessories because so many people saw U.S. Marhalls and ran out and bought one). Otherwise, you have to manually cock your striker fired weapons such as Glocks and Walthers.I did make a suggestion to them about the battery. All they say is simply put the battery pack in flat side up. Uh, there's two flat sides on these button batteries. What they should say is, put the + side of the battery face up. The + sign is stamped on one of the TWO flat sides of the battery pack, (sorry, had to throw that in again.) I don't know if the laser has circuit protection for incorrect polarity, so I had to search all over to find out it's the + side up and not take any chances. I have some laser pointers and battery polarity is important on some of the earlier models from a decade ago.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this as training
LOVE LOVE LOVE this as training. When someone gets interested with shooting in my family - after going over the 4 rules and fire arms safety I first get them accustomed to firing/trigger control/good practices using this guy. I have some of those laser activated plinking cans that work great too. They love it and now I feel safer taking them to the range as they have a little "experience" before going. For myself. I like it as it really adds to my dry-fire practice - especially with my targets that give feed back. Definitely recommend to other people for that.also helps in calibrating lasers and gun sightsThe only issues I have is longer barrels make it a little harder to get in/out and the laser can get stuck in the action, so you will need to use a dowel or ram-rod to get it out. Worse case I had to field strip a pistol to get it out. Also, and I would say this is the worse part of this is that for practice no recoil handling practice as well as you have to keep racking your slide (though I have a lot of Double action pistols so that works fine).... but then again at that point might as well go to the range.......Still over all good especially for us gun owners in California where we have to register ourselves and then are limited to a few boxes of ammo a month (after going through a DROS and paying a fee mind you). Every round is very precious so it helps to train new shooters without using rounds. Please America - let California be a warning to all of you - protect your freedoms!!

Hopeful that my replacement will last.
It worked great, but only for about 200-300 shots, then it quit. Tested the batteries, they were good.Got a replacement from Amazon. It worked for maybe 500 shots and quit. Now I'm out of warranty, so I guess I'm out of luck.9;/10/2016 - I'm updating my review. Because I couldn't get a replacement from Amazon, I contacted Laser Ammo. They sent me a mailing label to return the not functioning SureStrike, and then sent back 2 new back caps and a some spare batteries at no charge. One of the back caps didn't work, so, I sent it back and they replaced it along with yet another new battery. We'll see how long the back caps work, but the Laser Ammo customer service is fantastic!Training with the SureStrike is extremely helpful. I missed it when it wasn't working. I find it very helpful for training muscle memory to prevent recoil anticipation.

Used for new?
When the product was received, the packaging had been previously opened. Looks as if it could be a used product sold as new. On top of that, the product did not work at all. Immediately returning the product and getting a replacement. I will let you all know how the replacement product functions.

Accuracy is my Goal
I like this laser a lot. I can practice anywhere, anytime, using my own gun. In my own house for now. No bullets needed. No ear protection needed, No gun range needed. Safe. I can practice draw, shooting around corners, different body positions, right and left handed, one and two handed shooting. The laser stays on long enough to see the light, but also shows how steady I am with the pull/squeeze of the trigger. It has helped my confidence in hitting my target and handling my gun. I feel much more prepared in case of an emergency. The targets that come with the laser are nice but can practice with out also. The device itself seem like a overpriced flash light, but looks like it will last, stainless steel case. My first one was defective but the company I bought it from replaced it. The spring inside was touching the side wall. I thought the spring was in backwards, but that is how the second one came also. (The large end of the cone spring on the positive side of the button battery.) It works and I would definitely by it again. I would recommend it to anyone with a hand gun. The 9mm laser fits inside the chamber and can not be seen. Adaptors for the larger calibers are available and are visible at the end of the barrel.
