G.H. Bass & Co. Men's Buchanon Oxford

I did not purchase these through Amazon, but wanted to give them a review. I like the style of these shoes, but they are so stiff around the ankle/Achilles that they were digging in and I couldn't stand them after just walking 3 blocks from the parking garage to my car and an hour sitting behind a desk and going back and forth to the printer a couple of times. I will be returning them immediately. I don't think I'm going to be buying any more shoes online unless I have had a chance to wear them in a store first, and that is not fair to the brick and mortar store so I will not be ordering shoes online at all.

I purchased this shoe because it looked great and was said to be durable. The first part was correct, the latter - far from it. Within 3 months of purchasing I came home with a wet sock; very odd. Wore them again, same problem. Come to find out that the shoe had a hole in the sole, within THREE months. Called customer care and was told that they could not help. Good looking, poor quality. Poor post-purchase service. Will not buy again.

Just got these. I would give the shoe I received 5 stars, but I am docking one star because it doesn't match the illustration.The Bass Buchanons are a great looking saddle and fit true. Amazon should remove the "Narrow, meh" review that leads the most useful reviews from the most useful reviews.What IS useful to know is that my shoes look a lot like the Bass Pomona that is currently available on Amazon as far as the inner sole liner and color of the shoelaces. The Hemp leather is actually closer to the Bass Burlington Hemp illustrated on Amazon. It is darker than the Buchanon illustration, but not quite as dark as the Pomona.My Buchanons do have the shoelace eyelets and the red "golf cleat" soles with dark storm welt and a heel.They look great with jeans. I prefer the red sole,heel, and dark storm welt with which they came. The slightly darker hemp is good. The eyelets and the contrasting stitching actually work - they are not too apparent.The Hemp shoelaces are fine, but I would have preferred the blue laces (One would expected a second pair of laces). I think the pictured inner sole looks higher quality than the Pomona inner sole.I'm docking the shoe one star because it doesn't match the picture. Although I would prefer the shoe in the illustration, I would still give the shoe I received 5 stars if the picture matched the shoe.
