OXO Good Grips Peach Pitter

I have southern friend who makes peach preserves. I asked her if she had a trick for removing peach pits. I thought if anybody had a trick, it would be her. Well - she had no suggestions other than slice all the way around the peach and then twist each side in opposite directions. My experience is that this can be messy and doesn’t always work. HOLY COW! This gadget makes it so easy! I tried it on a small peach and a medium peach. It worked equally well. It adjusts to different sized pits by expanding. Occasionally, I needed to wiggle it a bit to ease around a pit to get it going. I quickly put together a lovely peach cobbler. Because the peaches don’t get torn up with the pit removal, the slices come out extra uniform. I haven’t told my friend about this find. She has no idea that such a gadget exists and will be surprised when it arrives at her door. I am looking forward to seeing what my peach expert thinks of this.

I have only used this for clingstone peaches, and I am SO glad I decided to order it!! It significantly speeds up the process of getting the stones out when trying to prepare the fruit for canning. The grip is comfortable and fits in my hand just fine. It takes some getting use to, and it can be a little rough, especially if the pit is a bigger one. Don’t expect it to be as smooth as just slicing with a knife, you have to use pressure. But it is worth it and it’s a good value for the price.

We moved to a house that had a cling peach tree. Peaches were so sweet, but a nightmare to get the pit out. Walla, I searched Amazon and this peach pitter is amazing. It is easy to use, removes pit easily and so easy to clean. I have recommended to family members who share in our bountiful crop of peaches. Makes me happy!!

This tool is a game changer! Works great, the design is sturdy, very sharp and has a comfortable gry. Easy to clean just rinse, dry and store. I'm eating a lot more nectarines now thanks to this tool.

UPDATE: I used this to easily and quickly pit 9 peaches. This thing is awesome! It works very similar to the OXO apple corer. Definitely worth the money. We’ve only used this once so far and on only 4 peaches. However, based on that limited experience, this was a worthwhile purchase. My elderly mother used it and found it to be easy to use, both ergonomically and in learning how to use it. I didn’t get pics of the peaches she did, but they came out a lot cleaner than when she would just use a knife. It didn’t look like there was a lot of waste. She thought that this would be really useful if pitting very many peaches. She did say that she had to be careful of the sharp teath but didn’t manage to cut herself at all, which she’s been known to accidentally do with scissors in an office setting. Overall, I’d buy this again.

I don’t know why it never occurred to me to look for something like this before, but it’s amazing! I love nectarines and peaches, but never like buying them hole and fresh because they are a pain in the butt to cut up without it making a total mess everywhere because of the pit. OXO is a great brand and they always make quality products. At first, I didn’t know how this one size would fit all different pit sizes but it works really well for all sizes. However, the end you push through is very sharp and it does not come with a sheet or protective cover for storage. That’s probably the only downside and why I’m taking one star off.

Worked great to pit peaches. I got cling peaches for a change to can and this kitchen toll helped me can the peaches and have a nice product canned.

This thing is a joy to own for peach pit haters. It quickly and efficiently eliminates the only bad part of eating peaches and you can leave the pit behind where you wash the peach instead of being stuck with a hard wet lump when you're finished. After I use this I segment the peach with my apple slicer. The corgis can then gauge when their slices are coming much better than with a whole peach so there is so much less hopeful surging and fidgeting. It seemed like a ridiculous extravagance at the time, but it was not.

ちょっと慣れるまでコツがあるというか。突き抜けないように潰さないように丁寧に。桃によっては一気に種を取り切れないこともありますが、そういう時はキッチンバサミに持ち替えて。種をはさんでぐるりとやれば大体取れます。種さえ取れればあとは簡単。 カットしてそのまま、お菓子になど。 私は丸ごと桃のタルトを作るのに重宝しています。
