Side button provides a flashlight. Small enough to use on a keychain. Lots of noise. Requires a 9 volt battery (not included). Requires a tiny (precision) philips screwdriver (not included) to install the battery. Includes a quick-pull plug as well as a door/window sensor pinch-type plug so it can be used to secure doors and windows. Fantastic for securing a seldom-opened door or gate or for personal protection. I ordered four and they all work perfectly. Downsides are that the door/window sensor is a pinch-type that has two leads pinched together in the door or window that come apart when the window/door is open. Anyone breaking in can pinch the leads together to shut off the alarm in a few seconds. It will alert you if you are home, but it is pretty easy to turn off. We use them to secure unused doors/windows/gates and one by the bed to manually set off if one of the others goes off and is disabled. At this price I couldn't imagine not using several of them. I used to sell similar products about twenty years go for $60 each.

This item is for everyone, but at least every woman should have one of these attached to their purse, or their keychain, or at least in their car. If you have any fear for your safety by someone, this small device will at least turn heads and make others notice if you are being bothered or attacked. Crimes are usually committed when no one is looking, and with this device, that isn't going to happen. It is a screeching alarm that is LOUD and UNPLEASENT. It is louder that a car horn blaring full blast. It will turn heads, and if an attacker doesn't want to be noticed, then they will hit the road at full speed when they hear this alarm.In this world today, we have to do what we can to protect ourselves from acts of violence and crime, and this item will help with that protection. Yes, this item is well worth its money.

It's small, it's light, it's LOUD!I bought this to use as a perimeter alarm when camping in bear country. The only negative I can see is that the "light" isn't real bright. It may be usable as a flashlight, but it throws about as much light as a bic lighter. I may have to replace that with some strobing LEDs, but that's the only negative I can think of, and it's minor.

As a solo runner who enjoys hitting the pavement pre-dawn, this seemed like a great solution to ease any anxiety about things that go bump in the night. Both the alarm and the strobe met my expectations when I tested them, so I attached it to my water/fuel belt and headed out on a long run. Somewhere along the way, the alarm slipped off my belt without my realizing it, so I lost it on my very first run with it.Perhaps it would have been more secure on the waistband of a pair of shorts, rather than attached to a smooth belt. But because my shirt covers the waistband and the fuel belt covers my shirt, that's not a practical solution for me. I will likely purchase a smaller alarm if I can find one with a clip.

I was using this as a door alarm and it seemed to work effectively. Until one night when I removed the clip attachment from the door to leave the house and one of the leads broke off inside its housing, causing it to screech nonstop even with the pin in place and contacts together and no way to stop it except to try to unscrew the back off with it screaming at me full blast in an attempt to remove the battery. On the plus side, it was loud. On the downside: this was not fun.

I purchased a body alarm like this one many years ago. I still have it, just replaced the battery so this product lasts a long time. Loud alarm. I ordered another one for someone else to use in case of emergency. I see that there are other alarms that are smaller and lighter weight so one needs to assess their needs. I purchased this one since I know it works well.

This security alarm packs quite a wallop....a loud shriek that can be heard all over the neighborhood if you activate it out on the street. There are two weak points, however: (1) The plastic screw that holds the belt clip on the unit tends to loosen (a dab of adhesive solves the problem), and (2) the pull pin comes out of unit a little too easily leading to accidental activation.

If not for the cheap plastic housing it'd give this a 5. The alarm is absolutely deafening. The door alarm feature is pretty cool to which is why I bought it for camping. Put a heavy bag on the door alarm feature and man will a nasty sound emit if someone trys to run off with your stuff!
