Product works on Sony XAV-AX5500 Head unit
Carlinkit 3.0 is a plug and play device, worked perfectly on my Sony XAV-AX5500 head unit. No delays have been noticed. When coming back to my car, my phone reconnects in less than 30 seconds without any issue. No need to update the firmware.

It’s not connecting, super bad experience
It doesn’t connect always straight away.. even sometimes I have to restart the phone just to be able to connect again.. super bad experience I wish I could get my money back, total waste..

Awesome device ! Could give better setup instructions
I had a horrendous time to get my new Carlinkit 4.0 2023 model to start up for my Audi 2018 Q7. Dropped a mail to customer support but no response for 12 hours so started doing some research. It just would not startup the CarPlay prompt on connecting the dongle. Finally after some thinking and plenty of research it connected and is now working like a dream. That’s why I took off a star. And gave 4/5 for bad setup instructions else the product is a 5 star.Update: it’s working now beautifully! The instructions are really poor on how to make a connection. I am leaving some details for anyone else with a AudiQ7 CarPlay who faces an issue to connect carlinkit 4.0 2023 model.1) when you connect the dongle to your USB and the red light indicator goes on but nothing happens to your car screen interface to show a CarPlay prompt (which is where I was stuck at) take the following steps2) turn on your wifi on iphone and look for a new wifi connection. Weirdly enough it was showing as Volkswagen C2 on my iPhone wifi settings. Rest were familiar ones. So I connected to Volkswagen C2 and it asked for password. I entered 12345678 (got this on some research) and it worked.3) that was it ! The green light start blinking on the carlinkit 4.0 dongle and Audi MMI display showed a prompt to connect and activate a new CarPlay connection. I said yes and agree.4) then the screen gave me a name AUDIMMI to detect in my Bluetooth settings which I did and my iphone 14 pro max was instantly connected wirelessly to a seamless and almost no latency CarPlay.5) I am happy this worked! But carlinkit guys if you are listening - you need to have clearer instructions or a page on your website where car owners can select their model to learn how to connect. Your bad setup instructions took away the fun out of an awesome device.

Keeps disconnecting
When it works its perfect and only for 10 minutes and then its not connecting anymore i have to plug it off then plug it back again.

It does the job but heats up fast and loss in connection
I mean it does work, there is a delay when you play a video between the visual and audio! And it gets heated fast and when it does it doesn’t perform well at all! Sometimes it doesn’t work you have to plug it out and in again

Glitches
It's glitches. It didn’t connect automatically. Unable attend the calls. Always gets disconnected.

this worked Great! I have a 2019 Camry that came with only Apple Carplay. This little magic box made my Android phone work with my Camry just like it had Android Auto built-in. Definitely would recommend!

Just as great as wired CarPlay
UPDATE 12/15/23: I now have this device for a year and a half now, and it still works just as fabulously even with all the Apple updates. You do need to manually update its firmware with your phone (and I am bad with remembering that), and only a few times in the last year did I have to unplug and replug it to “reset” when it would not connect. We got the 4.0 for my mom’s Rav4 and for some reason that one connects very slowly. My phone still connects just as quickly, even before I start my car. Worth the purchase.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have a 2022 Nissan Kicks and you’d think with CarPlay being available for several years now and the newer iPhones have wireless charging, that the auto makers would incorporate wireless CarPlay. NOT.Enter Carlinkit. I’ve only had this for 24 hours and already I LOVE it. The directions that come with it are straightforward and setup was less than 5 minutes. I’ve already had a few errands to run and it look it a bit longer than wired to connect, but that’s kind of expected. Slight delay when I’m scrolling through songs, but it’s not that bad really. Navigation was seamless as well with Apple Maps.Worth it if you have a vehicle with factory installed CarPlay integration and a newer iPhone with the wireless charging capacity. Money well spent.

product is good but has few bugs
I was happy to upgrade my car with carlinkkit 4.0my first experience setting it up was not good since the boot screen had choppy image and was not progressing. had to replug the device and it got connected. i could connect 2 phones to this device supporting android auto and apple car play. both works just fine. Randomly the device disconnects during the drive. I think this product is over priced for it's quality but overall it meets the basic functionality of wireless android auto and wireless apple play feature. currently there is not much options available to compete with this device hence if you are one of those who just want to upgrade the current USB plug to wireless connection for their android auto or apple play connection then just go for it.
