It explains everything I need to establish an accounting firm in a precise way. It is really easy to understand. The author talks to you like he is one of your friends to try to help you build a business.

Great book and very informative. It's a good read with stories and analogies. Darren Root is quite knowledgable. This book was very useful to my business.

I have a library of books on the topic of optimising, building, developing and running accounting practices. Finally a book that is no nonsense, direct and easy to follow. Love the planned and systemic approach the book outlines. Simple, common sense. Sometimes us accountants can't see the forest for the trees. Dislike the fact that the book is available to everyone to read..........I want to be the only one ahead of the game! :) Thank you Darren.

Practical and useful advice. Author has shared great wisdom from experience. A must read for taking your practice to the next level. Respectfully written.

As an academy member I find this book to be a great roadmap for how to transition your business. This will give you the guidance you need to get an overall perspective. This isn't easy and there are parts that can make you want to quit; for example,"single user database"- it's necessary but very tedious and only the partners can do this step. Good luck on your journey and congratulations on finding this book!!!

Great Book! It should be read by anyone who owns their own firm or plans on running thier own firm. It shows how you can run a firm and still have a life away from your office. I am more optimistic about the future of my firm than ever before.

Darren's new book is terrific - for sure!It brings full circle for me clarity regarding so many topics that we have covered in Rootworks over the past three years.I can really relate with all of this information, as Steve (my business partner) is our technician and I am the strategist - per se - of the practice.Darren's specific and personal examples related to firm leadership and management are so helpful. It's almost as if Darren has customized this book just for me - no kidding.In a nutshell, the book contains so many valuable insights for us - and myself personally. Darren's "thought leadership" and communication skills provide me with lots of clarity from a practical - rather than simply a theoretical - perspective.I really feel that I can/will implement and begin executing these ideas and strategies starting tomorrow morning.
