Works great, but practice, practice, practice first!
This takes a little practice. I would give it a 5-star review except that I don't really care for the so-called "brush" they give you. A toothbrush or an old (but clean) mascara brush works much better. I have a specific hair color brush (several actually) but I find that the old fashioned toothbrush/mascara brush actually does a better highlighting job. If you use a toothbrush, be sure to hold the brush vertically instead of horizontally, unless you want thick highlights. Practicing (more in a moment on that) will help you figure out how best to hold it.Like all of the other highlighting kits I've used, it first goes on clumpy but that's the way it will be for other kit brands as well. I find it best to start about 1/3 of the way down from my scalp. I then smooth it down twice. Once to get to the bottom 2/3 of my hair then again to get the area at the top of my hair.One suggestion they give you in the package is to practice first using conditioner. The problem with that is that conditioner usually becomes pretty clear - in smaller amounts - after a minute or so. Instead, I used a mixture of cornstarch and water (I can't remember my exact recipe, but try 2 tbs and add 1 tbs water and mix, thin with water until it is about the texture of conditioner if needed). I can even get it pretty close to the thickness of the color cream (which is about the same as conditioner), so that's helpful.If you're trying to have smaller, thinner highlights, then I recommend tiny bobby pins. First pin the strands you wish to highlight separately from the rest of your hair. That makes for a much cleaner highlighted strand.The instructions say to wash your hair with a "mild shampoo" when you're done. Unfortunately, they don't provide you with what they are instructing you to use and since it doesn't say this on the bottle, you may be stuck without it like me. I used this immediately on top of my color treated hair (rinsed out of course). Once I thought about it, I realized that I didn't really want to use shampoo after because freshly colored hair will dull the day of, and a few days after, coloring if you shampoo it. In the end, I use my hair color's conditioner (or if you don't have color treated hair, your regular conditioner) as a "shampoo", rinse it out, then apply their conditioner, which by the way smells SO good.As for highlighting, it does highlight very well, but it also does dry out the strands. That actually happens with any highlighting kit (or even professionally), but is just a warning for those who are considering trying it for the first time. It's not fair to blame them when you use it and your strands become dry, that's normal.All in all, I highly recommend it but ONLY if you practice first. That goes with whatever highlighting kit you decide to use, even if it's another brand.

I have black hair and this worked very well on it after I left it in for 20 minutes. I've learned that the key for the color to show evenly is to make sure you completely cover the strand of hair with the cream -- do not thin it out!

Easy
Loved it. Easy to use. Color still in after a month and I swim and use no special shampoo for color. This was my first time using so I may have to leave in longer as it was a little brassy in dark brown hair but was nervous to leave in longer on first try.

GOOD PRODUCT
I have not used this color for highlights, but I have used the lighter blonde color. It is very easy to use, you just select where you want the highlight and paint it on. The thing to remember is to not get too heavy handed. Other than that, you can save $$$ by DIY.

Maybe my hair is too thick?
I left this on for 45min before giving up and washing it out. I got 3 light splotches where it did what it was supposed to but the rest of my hair did nothing... not sure if I am going to retry with the second box I bought as I don't want to be any more blotchy than I am already...

Great Highlights for $7
This kit worked great! It gave me beautiful warm colored highlights on my medium brown hair. Do they look completely professional? Of course not. But they only cost me a tenth of what it would in the salon and gave me exactly what I wanted.I would definitely use this kit again! I love how they turned out.

No noticeable change
I had used this in the past and I feel like i had much more noticeable results however, this time my hair barely changed. My hair is normally a dark brown to black color and only lifted 1 level if that. I would have left it on longer or applied heat if I had known.

Lovely colour and so easy to use.
Really happy with the results. Very easy to use. This was the first time I've used this product. Was apprehensive at first, as I have dark brown hair and had visions of orange steaks!The instructions are really simple and straight forward and at the bottom of the page was how to use the product on different hairstyles. I have a layered bob with a fringe, but decided to leave the fringe as I think it looks better that way.The little brush that came with the kit is absolutely useless. Doesn't hold enough product to do the whole length of hair and my hair is only shoulder length. At the end the best result was an old children's tooth brush and using my fingers. You have to move quickly, as the hair starts to lighten in 15 minutes. I was a bit slow being a newbie and the strands at the back are not as light as the front, but still looks ok. I think also next time I will also do smaller strands.

easy to apply, great results im loving the colour.my hair is just above shoulder length- the amount in the pack was more than enough- I had to throw away the rest. :(Best if you can get somebody else to do it for you. Also the brush they provide is pointless but I used an old toothbrush (if you dont have a brush already)Its a shame they dont sell it in store. definitely will buy it again.

Very easy to use
Very easy to use, arrived on time. The affects aren't over dramatic just nice and subtle and true to the colour chart. The conditioner with it is lovely too, though having thick hair a little bit more of the conditioner would have been good as well. Would recommend this easy to use product if you want just a few subtle highlights

Nice colour results
The colour results are nice, i washed it too early and it didn't lighten much but the colour tone is nice and doesn't have orange tone in it. I have medium long hair and the package is only enough for top layers maybe. It will make the hair very dry because it has oxidant, avoid using near the roots.
