Restored life to my 12 year old Sony MDR-7506s!
These pads are awesome, they are very comfortable, super easy to install, they fit perfectly, they are a perfect thickness, the difference between these and my old oem pads are night and day.

Better than the original pads, by far!
TL:DR Easy install, better material quality, better foam, better long term wearing comfort, better sound seal than the Sony original pads. Such a good design they should be the OEM supplier for Sony. Full review: These pads fit both the MDR V6 and the 7506 due to them sharing the same aluminum ear cup design. The difference between the V6 and 7506 is purely in the internal drivers and color printed on the ear cups. The V6 is more balanced while the 7506 has a little more bass response. I use my MDR V6's almost every day, for several hours a day. The original Sony pads would have pressure spots and tension headaches after a couple of hours. My prescription glasses would break the sound seal and noise rejection would suffer from it. The Sony pads also jammed my glasses frames into my head, increasing the pressure. I thought I just had to deal with this lack of comfort due to me wearing glasses and not knowing Wicked Cushions existed. Last year, my original Sony pads started wearing out and falling apart. The vinyl broke down and literally peeled right off the foam in strips about 1/4" wide, all around the headphones, starting in the ear cavity and radiating out to the outside of the ear cups. I bought my first set of Wicked Cushions for my V6's then. What a night and day difference! These Wicked Cushions fit like the original Sony's on the ear cups, but have a lot of significant upgrades in comfort, longevity, and sound seal. Wicked Cushions are much more supple of a material, with better, softer padding, and better noise rejection and a better seal to your head, even around my prescription glasses. I get no pressure points after long uses and can go for hours with no headaches. The foam is soft and the leather supple. I put them through a 10 hour flight in October 2019, without removing them once, while wearing my glasses, and felt no pressure points from the long listening usage. Honestly, these pads should be the original pads that came with the V6 and 7506 as they perfected the issues the original design had. This order was to replace my wife's original pads, which had also started to break down like mine did. My Wicked's are still going strong 13 months later! Based on the quality I'm sure both of ours will be going strong years from now!

Real Good Replacement Ear Pads
Bought these to replace the ear pads on my Sony MDR-7506 over ear headphones who's existing ones were starting to wear out and the outer material was flaking off. I find these better than the previous ones. They are a little more comfortable and let in a little less outside sound and they are a little softer than the old ones. It will be seen how long they will last as this is the second replacement pair I've bought, which is a great feature Sony built in as these headphones, while a model that's been out for years are great sounding and not overly expensive.

These Pads Rock! The Cure For That Bad Case Of "Black Dandruff"!
Stumbled upon a 25 year-old pair of Sony 7506s I had forgotten about, and read all the positive reviews on these pads, so decided to give 'em a shot - and glad I did! Unlike so many third-party pads that are a struggle to secure, these really do fit perfectly, and I couldn't believe how easily they slipped on! Probably took less than 2 minutes a pad. Though it does take a smidgen of finesse - they practically put themselves on. However, the other side of the coin is they seem like they could also slip off fairly easy if accidentally tugged the wrong way. So would advise using a small-edged tool (like a small flathead screwdriver, or guitar pick), to help seat the elastic bands more securely in the pad grooves. (See photo). Anyway, though for years I've preferred the flat response of the Sennheiser HD-280's over these (for their non-colorizing and more accurate signal transfer), I'd say these pads are definitely worth the $23, as they brought these 2.5 decade old phones back to life!

Great Earpads For My Sony's--But I'm Curious Why The Packaging Contained Something Extra I Did NOT Order
Being in the broadcast industry, I use headphones more than the average person, and while the MDR-7506's are just about the best available for all-around broadcast usage, the earpads certainly don't last very long. Usually I just deal with it, thinking for the bulk of my career that the pads weren't replaceable. Imagine my surprise when I found out they were. These are comfortable, and they fit--though the pair I received seem to have extra material where it fits around the frames of the speakers that I couldn't get to fit as snug as I would have liked. That could very well be that somehow I missed something, but they fit well enough that they fit properly and most importantly, don't interfere with the audio quality at all. The foam helps to isolate the sound over my ears which is exactly what helps make these Sony's such great studio monitors. I think the descriptions claims the pads are made from memory foam, while I can't confirm this, all I know is they feel fine and comfortable, which is just about the most important lesson about this purchase. If you are considering replacing your pads (and let's face it, if you use your Sony's for very long, you WILL), consider getting these replacement pads, definitely worth it. ***NOTE*** Not sure why, but a large aluminum handle was found inside the packaging which looks like it was broken off from where it was originally welded. It has NOTHING to do with the product I ordered and as far as I can tell, only managed to make the package weigh more. Not sure why they did it because since I'm a Prime member, I didn't have to pay for shipping in the first place. I'm a little puzzled as to why they would include something like that if not to increase the weight. If this is a way to get us to pay for more shipping costs, its a pretty low way of doing it, but if that isn't the reason, I have no idea what it was for because it certainly had nothing to do with what I ordered.

Great replacement for Sony pads
I've had my Sony headphones for a number of years. I bought them based on a Wirecutter review. They serve me well. In the last year however the leather on the ear cushions started flaking off. I finally gave up and decided to order replacement ear cushions. After reading a lot of various reviews here on Amazon I decided to try these. The installation is pretty straightforward. Peel the old cushions and and put these in their place. Since you want these to fit snug it takes a little finagling to get everything in its proper place. No special tools required. As far as performance these do a great job. I've worn them a few hours at a time and no heating or fatigue from the ear cushions themselves. I gave four stars on the noise cancellation as I didn't expect these to perform that function. They do a great job of minimizing the noise around me but I can still hear the louder noises or if someone is talking to me. Obviously a lot depends on the playback volume. I don't listen to anything any louder than necessary. So overall rating is excellent. Very nice replacement for the Sony cushions. Long term wear is comfortable without getting hot or sticky. Installation is simple and the product fits very snuggly so it won't fall off easily.

Very comfortable and high quality ear pad replacements for my sony MDR-7506!
My trusty MDR-7506 ear pads were starting to show their age, so I decided to purchase replacement ones. After seeing the price of the original Sony ones (over 20 EUR each!), I decided to go for cheaper Chinese replacements which left me so disappointed that I almost decided to stop using my earphones completely. Then I found these Wicked Cushions on Amazon and after seeing the amount of positive reviews I decided to give them a whirl. I could not be happier about the quality and fit of these ear pads. They feel really plush and they completely surround your ears for a really good sound isolation. I would go as far as to say that they are more comfortable than the original ear pads (and they look better as well!). Installation was also a breeze. They have enough elasticity to allow for a quick an easy installation. I can wear these babies for hours without any discomfort and I don't notice any degradation or alteration of the amazing sound quality I get from my MDR-7506's. The only minor point I might give them is that they feel a bit looser than the original ones... which for me makes it feel as if the headphones do not always feel properly secured to your head (that might just be my impression, though). I really recommend these if you're in the market for ear pad replacements!

Was too analytical - it was amazing, but lacked the "oomph" factor
Somehow I ended finding Sony MDR-V6 headphones; they arrived and I was blown by how they sound and how my Note 4 smartphone was driving it without any problems; it was loud and of course crystal clear. But too analytical - it was amazing, but lacked the "oomph" factor. But, let me repeat, this is the best sound I have heard from a headphone - including WH-1000XM2. I have a iBasso Dx90 DAP, and the fit was better than any earphone or headphıone I have; but something was lacking. My test case is an impossible song: Bonnie Tyler, Take Me Back. Due an idotic mixing, the drum and cimbal beats on that song are simply unbearable beats that kill the song and its just like they are hittign my ear canals with cimbals. This happened on all earphones and headphones I have. After hearing V6 first time, within 15 minutes I purcased Wicked Cushion replacement pads, and they arrived a few hours ago. It took no time to take out the original pads, but putting these on took 10 minutes or so, mainly due me being clumsy with my hands. First 2 minutes, first it seems impossible to put them on, but they fit perfectly. After putting them on, I listened the same songs before changing the earpads. Booommm... The analytical sound has been changed with a more subdued sound, where the extreme beats like the cimbals I mentioned above are somehow filtered, now they sound like regular drum and cimbal beats; no nuisance on my ear canals anymore. With Wicked Cushion replacement pads, even iBasso DX90 DAP has become a good match for this headphone. I was about to give up any hopes of listening to music with my Galaxy Note 4 phone, now it is as good a match as it gets - Sony MDR-V6 + Wicked Cushion earpads. Very happy with it.

Thought it was not necessary
Been a long time coming. I have been putting off replacing the pads on my MDR-7506. However since my usage of the headphones is more prolonged during the weekday, I found that the original torn padding on the headphones had to go. After a very simple installation of the pads, the first thing I did was to wear them to see if they would block out some external sounds as some reviews suggest. Can confirm that some background ambient noise can be omitted, however, performance is only enhanced when music is played through the headphones. However in saying so, when someone right behind you in a phone presentation, you are still able to hear a murmur, however, what they are saying is not so audible. The second test was comfort over a longer period of use whilst using glasses. I found that the foam works well in this test, as it doesn't collapse, keeping its shape, to prevent the speaker from being the part resting your on the ear. As the external material is rather slippery, it can move backwards, however, a simple readjustment will fix that. Overall, very happy with the product and would recommend if you would like to give some life back to old classic headphones.

Good!

Easy to install (they won't rip), fits MDR-7506 perfectly
They weren't at all hard to install. The installation instructions are reassuring. They feel nice. Sound of the headphones is unchanged. I haven't worn them long enough to comment on if they're comfortable for extended wear yet, but so far so good. Also I wonder whether they might be better at blocking out unwanted noise from outside the headphones - I'll have to give them a go in a noisy cafe and see.
