is this sutible for the ender 3m ax ?thanks

The kit is mostly compatible with the ender 3 max except for the lead screw. The lead screw official spec required is 480mm which is longer than the supplied which is for ender 3/pro/v2. You could get away with using 500/515mm lead screw aswell which is alot more common size.

Why does one of the motors do more steps than the other? I need to recalibrate after each print

I have the same readjustment problem after every print. But, I don't think the motors have different steps, and even if they did it should not put the X gantry out of alignment for the same Z position, as when you move the X gantry up to 240 mm and return it back to 0 everyting stays aligned, I checked the rods to see if they have the same thread length, they do, it only happens when you print something, there might be some other mechanical issues related to the position of the print head while moving up in Z, I couldn't figure it out yet.

after install autohome function did not work ? reverted back and the machine works fine

All I can think is that you have a binding issue with the new Z screw. Make sure that you have set it up correctly and that there is no binding. The Creality YouTube channel has some good setup video. Good luck, it's worth it.
