why is the soda flat compared to soda stream?

To get the most carbonation, we recommend to use an iSi soda charger and the coldest water possible (refrigerated) and to shake the siphon a lot to get the best fizz. The more you shake, the better carbonated the water will be. Carbon dioxide loves to be shaken, very cold and served over ice.

How do you get the “dead” water out of the bottom of the bottle? The plastic inner tube doesn’t let the water out of the bottom of the bottle.

The inner tube is removable. My siphon was supplied with a tool (that looked like tongs) for ease of removal, but I just stick my finger in and pop it out to empty the bottle.

Can I carbonate things other than water?

Yes. I use this to force carbonate cocktails. Make sure that whatever liquids you choose are clear. Particles of pulp, additives, etc are nucleation points and allow the carbonation to rapidly escape. This means that your drink will just foam or spray when you dispense it. Clarifying your juices is time consuming, but necessary if you want a good product. Milk punches, in particular, work great for this.

Is it dishwasher safe (or any parts of it)?

No is not dishwasher safe. Since this only carbonates water, we recommend to rinse thoroughly and air dry thoroughly before storing. Thank you.
