Will this work a a rebound net?

I don't think so. Do you mean as a net that will bounce the ball back to you? If that is what you mean, then no.

We would like to use this as a net to hold pool floats. Is it heavy duty enough to hold that kind of weight?

No I do not believe so, but how about this... https://smile.amazon.com/Water-Pool-Blaster-Pouch-Organizer/dp/B004PVTIO4/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=pool+toys+net+organizer&qid=1593871461&sr=8-4

Will a 6x12 netting fit a 5x10 net?

Yes I think it would just be baggy. You get many velcro pieces to tighten it where needed.
