"For those people trying to take it to the next level"
This book taught me a lot. I used to be the kind of dude who thought eating a 12-inch Subway sandwich was a smart move, or that isolating my biceps for an entire 60-minute working out period was a great idea.No more.50 stresses the importance of a holistic approach to your daily diet and workout program. That's it.This book appeals to a very exclusive audience. It's not for people who have a very strong grasp on fitness and healthy diet -- but it may be way too difficult for a novice. I really think its for people looking to take it to the next level. If you only *think* you're doing it right, then you're probably not. If you have health and fitness down to a science, you don't need this.50 says that you'll see 50% improvement -- is it true?I'd say yes -- I was already in decent shape to begin with, and I saw a huge improvement in my cardiovascular and muscular endurance. I didn't put on size but I got shredded like lettuce. Most people out of shape would see a huge improvement from this program, but it would have to be performed without failure. One other note:You need access to gym equipment that you may not have at home -- and if you perform these moves at a public gym, you will find it difficult to move between various exercises in each day's work. Someone at the gym might be using the equipment you were mentally preparing to work with next, or perhaps too many mouth breathers are blocking the path to your next exercise that needs to be completed within the next 10 seconds. I can't say too many newbies are going to be comfortable doing that. My gym can be a zoo; the hardest part of this program was getting immediate access to the equipment I needed.

Formula 50
I was surprised to see Rap artist 5o cents wrote an exercise book and even more surprised to discover I wanted to actually try it out. I think the book is well thought out even if I did have to look some information up so I'd know what was being said and had to look up some of the exercise moves that I had trouble following. No, I did not stay with the program. I am a beginner with working out and have back problems. I did lose some weight just following the menu the first week. I also did not join a gym but tried to find mods of the exercises done in gym. He actually recommends doing just that if you can't fit a membership into your budget. I'm going over the book again and taking big baby steps this time so I don't re re re injure my back. I say give it a read or listen and try the food definitely and the moves. I love this book but found out today it doesn't work with win 8, or 8.1, which is what I have on my laptop. Disappointing.

GREAT BOOK!!
50 was very informal when it come to your health and why it is so important to be in good shape. he doesn't stress the you got to be a body building looking person, just a good heathy change that YOU want to see in YOU is the impression i got out of the book. don't let 50s size intimidate you from buying the book, he had the average person like me and you in mind when he wrote this book. not only did i buy the book, it is my stepping stone and my bible of health and wellness to say the least and my body is reaping all the benefits, looking good on the outside and feeling good inside my body. feels like a brand new body. i'm looking forward to reading more books by 50.

The Special Formula?
No, it's all in your head. When you purchase a planned workout guide you must be 100% committed throughout the entire planned workout or else it will fail. Fifty's success might get you pumped up enough just to purchase the book, but that must last longer than the impulse you got to buy the book. As with any fitness book. I'm a 50 Cent fan, I've been following him since he was still on the come up trying to make it as an artist. That alone got me interested enough to buy the book. Jeff O'Connell seems to linger in the hip-hop fitness community as he has also did a book with LL Cool J, which I have too. Both great material but you need a gym membership and some extra money to buy some good food. This will not be a good starter book for those who workout in the garage or do not have a neighborhood gym or gym membership. Be prepared to find a gym.Needless to say you will see big results from Formula 50 if you are set to follow through with the 6-week (or 12-week plan for beginners) plan Jeff O'Connell and 50 Cent have planned for you. You can actually maintain it as your regular workout after the plan is though. Formulas 50 starts with a lot of reading which should get you well informed and pumped but anxious to get to the workouts. With Jeff O'Connell though you can expect the most up-to-date routines and exercises so this is only expected. Plus, you get pictures to give you a visual of the workouts if you find yourself stuck, even with the stretches. Jeff and 50 also provide a very effective diet plan which will also provide assistance in attaining those results you want. All in all, it is thorough and effective, you get up-to-date workouts, a great meal plan, and you will get results regardless of your level of experience. The book has everything you need, except the commitment you have to give. Believe in yourself, that's where the results come from. Good luck!

Five Stars
Amazing book and very well detailed. I have read other books but for some reason this one is one of my top favorites. You do see results when following 50 Cent work out routine. As long as you follow every step, I can say it will work. Maybe not for others due to every body is different. So depending on your body, I say try anything and see if you have any results. Now you do have to have patients to see and let others tell you if you are. You can't decide bc you always see yourself. Maybe a friend who you don't see too often like a month or 2.That's my review. Hope it helped.

Disappointed
Workout is on equipment that not everyone has available to them ands one of the food is not something the average person eats. I bought the book for my 14 yr old son because 50 cent is his idol, just wish it was geared for average people.

Well written very well illustrated.
Very informative book - lots of photographs of the man himself and very easy to follow. As a personal trainer myself, I can recommend the exercises and they will work, if you apply the correct technique. It's aimed at both men and women and includes a selection of balanced meals, that again will provide adequate nutrition and help you reach your fitness goals.

Excellent book.
Excellent book and very insightful. I don't get to the gym as often as I'd like to get the full 6-week plan done (I also recommend Shawn T's Hip Hop Abs DVD for a daily house work out to help gut loss) but the workouts and programmes are spot on.If you don't like 50 Cent, don't let that put you off. It really is one of the best books out there.
