I just received this thing and I have to day it is amazing so far. I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber and I had one concerned when I ordered this, will the cord be long enough because my cig lighter is at the very bottom of the console and the aux is at the top with the radio. Well, let me assure you it is plenty long and I even had to wrap it up.As for music, I use my phone to run music through and my phone (Galaxy Note II: yes I still have the old phone bc I don't see the point of changing when it does exactly what I want it to do and has never failed me). The Himbox connected flawlessly and even spoke to me when it was connected (freaked me out by the way).Playing music has never been so clear. I used to have the phone plugged into a direct aux cord and this thing was even better than that. In fact, I have 6x9's in my car and they were bassin'. I love how clear and crisp the sound is, I was presently surprised by that.Connectivity: this thing connects automatic and I can leave it plugged it because my car turns it off automatically as well. As soon as I get back in the car, it connects it directly to my phone so all I have to do is press play which is a great feature.I have not placed a phone call through it yet, so I won't comment on that, but when I do you will be the first to know.I will come back with an update video so that you can get an idea at how awesome this thing is. I was wrong and the mic was actually pretty loud.I'll definitely change it to 5 stars. I just realized something and this might be very helpful to others who have purchased this product. Please find the attached photo. As you can see, the mic was placed behind the steering wheel, so after a month or so of using it, I've realized that the reason why the mic wasn't loud enough was because my right hand was actually blocking the mic while it's on the steering wheel and when I'm on the phone. I've tried it with my right hand away from the steering wheel or on my lap and the audio quality on the other party's phone was pretty loud and clear. I'd strongly recommend this product.---------------------------------------------------Mic is not loud/sensitive enough. I had to hold the control knob to speak directly to the mic so the other person could hear me better.

This is the third Bluetooth interface for my car audio that I have tried, and it is the first one that works properly. My car supports Bluetooth for phone, so I am only reviewing this with regards to Media and connectivity only. I have no idea how well it works for hands-free phoning. My Android phone, like many, permits me to select which BT profiles to support for each BT device. So, on my phone I selected Phone and Contacts for my car. Then when I paired my phone to the Himbox, I set the profile to Media. The Himbox was very simple to pair, I just plugged the USB power adapter into a cigarette lighter jack, and the 3.5mm plug into the aux jack on my car stereo. Then I turned on the car and the Himbox entered pairing mode. I tapped connect on my phone BT configuration, set the profile to media, and voila!. I then turned off the car and now every time I start my car the phone connects to my car and the Himbox automatically by the time I put on my seat belt. Press play on my phone's Pandora app, and BAM--Bob's your Uncle...When I turn off my car, the app stops playing automatically, and I can just grab my phone and go. This is exactly how it should work! The sound quality is as good as the cable, really, no reduction in volume or quality!Unlike most of the reviews for similar products, No one paid me, or gave me anything to write this review. I am writing it as a public service, so maybe you won't have to waste your time trying the frustrating BT devices with the fake reviews like I did.

I held off ordering this for almost a month because I thought it would be cumbersome. I was wrong. The setup out of the box took less than 2 minutes. The time to initially sync/pair with my phone took less than a minute. Off to a good start, I thought.Using this product for music is seamless and fun. When listening to Amazon Prime music, for instance, it automatically pauses when the car is turned off, and then starts playing again when the car is turned back on (provided it wasn't off for more than an hour or two). Neat feature, and something that our car with built-in bluetooth does NOT do. I was very happy that the sound quality is top notch. Deep bass and no tinny sound.Using this product for phone calls is fantastic. I've asked people that I talk to about my audio quality, and they are surprised to learn that I'm even driving in the first place. I've done this at 65+ on the freeway too. Audio quality is top notch.The buttons on the device are large, firm, and work well. I can end calls, pause music, skip songs, etc. without looking.The time to sync when starting the car is too quick to count. The engine is barely done starting when the sync sound is heard and ready to go.The only negative (and it's barely a negative) is that if my wife starts the car to warm it up before I come out with my phone, then it doesn't sync up automatically, It's as though this device only sends out the sync signal upon first getting power. So, I have to go into my phone's bluetooth and click on the pairing choice for that vehicle. It's quick, but manual. This is not a common practice in my household, but if you have a vehicle with remote start it could be an issue.This device DOES accept 2 phones, and pairs with one or both of them when the vehicle starts up.My only wish for change with this device is that the AUX plug be at a 90-degree elbow, rather than straight on. Since some applications may prefer straight on, I wish it came with an adapter to make it 90-degrees because it sticks out from our dash, and could get bumped or broken. The small wires are nice (in my opinion) as I don't plan on moving this ever, and it makes for a clean install.I will update this review should something go wrong in the future, but at this point, after 3 weeks of daily use, I have to say that I'm overly pleased with this device. The price is cheap, given how great it works. It syncs fast, has great audio for phone calls, and plays music with great sound.***************************************Update: One year after purchaseThought some might like to know the longevity of this product. Well... it's still going strong. The original cell phone I paired with this is a different story, however. It got dropped and bit the dust. New phone paired up just as easily, though, and works just as well. I had initially been concerned with how thin some of the wires are on this device, but they've held up great. It still connects with my phone super fast, and works better than the factory bluetooth in our other car. This device has never failed, and I love the pause and skip song features when I'm playing my Amazon Prime Stations.

The bluetooth quality and speed of connection to my phone is working well, but the adhesive to mount the device to my car was dry and did not stick.

I was skeptical, but my iPhoneX connects immediately and sounds great. Siri functions do take longer to register than normal, but thats the only little con. (first world problems).

I use this to connect my phone to my car to listen to music. The great thing about it is that it just works.

I spent about $250 on the last bluetooth device I had installed in my car. It works fine, but it was also $250 installed.

This works great. I've been using it for years now. It auto connects to my phone when I enter the car. The buttons and mic are responsive. Highly recommended!
