Wish I bought a long time ago.PROS: Okay near perfect, actually I don't think the problem is in the SMALLRIG LCD Screen Sun Shield hood but with my Canon M-50 camera design. The microphone cable partially blocks this hood forcing you to angle the slightly on top to allow for the cable to fit the camera, This is a reasonable price for the amount of workmanship that went into this well designed hood. Overhang of your camera display top and bottom helps keep any light from sneaking in. I like that the close to four inch top of this display blocks out most unwanted light. I like the soft felt that is used for all surfaces that come in actual contact with your camera display.CONS: If notched on Upper Left corner slightly this would be perfect. Hard to call that a con though as it is camera specific. With Canon M-50 camera if you don't have a right angle trs connector for your microphone cable the SMALLRIG LCD Screen Sun Shield Hood will not allow the display to be flipped forward.Yes I'd buy this again and recommend to my friends.

This hood is a perfect fit for a GH5. I have been through an number of video camera sun shades. This one is everything you could want. The only part along the back is the elastic straps. There is nothing to interfere with tilting or turning the monitor. The only position you cannot use it in is with the monitor folded up against the body. That is because there are small lips extending beyond the top and bottom panels. With the monitor open, these lips position the shade and square it as well as prevent any light from entering from the top of the shade onto the screen. Whoever designed this got it right. It is deep enough to keep the sun off the screen but not so deep that it prevents me from putting a finger on the touch screen. I wish they made a few different sizes, I have other video cameras that I have yet to find the perfect shade for.

I'l start by answering a question I submitted that has not yet been answered by anyone else: Will this fit the G9? Yes, it does. The G9's flip-out screen is the same size as the listed cameras, so this sunshade fits the G9's screen as well.Now, does it work? Of course it does. Small Rig is developing quite a reputation for producing high quality products supporting video on hybrid cameras. I would expect this sunshade to match their usual level of quality, and it does. Positives include: it's dark; it covers the screen with minimal light leakage, and the velcro straps hang on tightly. It's easy to put on and easier to take off. However, it's still an $8 sunshade. It fits, it blocks the sun so you can see the image on the screen in bright sunlight, but it does not do the job an $80 or $90 solution will do. You have to pay attention to it because it can easily slide around. Mine wants to assume a slight parallelogram shape, rather than purely rectangular, because it came flattened and I store it flattened. Unless you're a professional videographer who really does need the (much) more expensive solution, this will do the trick for you.

It does provide decent cover during sunny days so you can see the screen on a Canon M3. It's a bit overpriced for a small piece of nylon with velcro straps.

This is a great LCD Screen Hood for the Panasonic GH5. I film on a daily basis in the harsh African Sunlight and this is the best 8 Dollars I have spent on film gear! This is an essential piece of equipment for outdoor filmmakers. The only problem I have with this Sun hood is that it doesn't allow the screen to pivot completely when you have audio cables plugged into the side of the Panasonic GH5, but this can be altered by simply moving the Sun hood 5 mm to the left, or more drastically, but probably more effectively by cutting a hole out of the top right hand corner of the Sun hood allowing a little bit of light in, but allowing the screen to pivot vertically without getting stuck. Even with this being a problem with the hood, I would still highly recommend it as it has made filming outdoors so much easier for me.

i loved this. i put this on my Canon Vixia HF R80 Video camera and it was the best decision i ever made. when filming outside it protected my viewfinder from the bright sun and i could see everything i was Filming. easy to put on and use, and when not in use easy to fold up and put away in my Camera bag. i wouldn't know what i would have done without this.

This shade does them job it is supposed too. I used SLR's for several decades and I love my digital camera. There is definit6ely an adjustment for me switching from a view finder to a small flat screen. It becomes particularly annoying when the sun is on the flat screen. This helps quite a bit. I still miss ,my view finder though.

I needed a quick and dirty fix for a shoot and got this strap on sun hood. It worked well enough and was a cheap solution. It still use it once in a while but you have to be very careful storing it or transporting it in a photo back pack. It is basically cardboard and velcro and once you warp it it becomes harder to set correctly. I managed to put it under a stack of books after steaming it with hot water and it is okay now. Just be aware of that possible issue.
