can someone give me the dimensions of these pot holders? Does anyone know the difference between what they call the trivet?

The pot holders are 6 and7/8 square. Pot holders, if substantial enough can be used as trivets. Trivets, however are usually of solid construction and provide a temperature barrier between the hot or cold item and the surface on which they are to be placed.
