It's ok while it could have been so much more.
The TV show clearly responds to young kids and up to tweens, meanwhile this how to draw responds more from tweens to teens.Do not get me wrong, it is very easy to follow, even a 7 years old young kid can do it, but....1) Could some tracing paper have been placed in the how to draw book for quick fun?2) Why not a sheet of stickers.3) Why single character pose? young kid even my 10 years old who loves to draw will have all hurdles in the world if she decides to draw any of these characters in a different pose than those described in the book. Think of .. what's his name (hang, ang,... the main character) is drawn 2/3rd front on the sheet. if my daughter decides to draw fully sideway or front face.. what does she do? Thankfully I know how to draw so I will help her to come as close as possible but what I am saying is that this book"let" could have been so much more and providing more fun tools for kids to develop ...imagination... creativity... love for art and craft. Is it a bad purchase for the price? certainly not, it is a ok purchase for the price meaning your kid will be able to draw "some" and develop good drawing habits (4 steps drawing) but I cannot keep and feels the book"let was intentionally done halfway through for copyright and/or dividend purpose, and is why only 4 stars...

Great book, great seller
Great third party seller! The fastest shipping time i’ve seen in a while. The used book was definatly used, but i dont mind, all pages were still in tact. This how to draw avatar book is great too! The steps are simple enough for me to follow, and the character selection is great, and more then i was expecting. Overall awesome purchase :)

Helps a little...
This book was acquired for the purpose of seeing how the characters from the show are drawn...And I have to say.. Not really a beginner's book at all...Not while I myself am not a beginner at sketching, I was kind of expecting more basic information from this title being it's target audience are a younger crowd. Still a decent over view piece in my opinion though...pros: Good for basic overview for someone that knows what they are doing alreadycons: (personal opinion) Not very helpful, if looking for actual basics in drawing.

This book leaves me wanting even more.
The book is actually really good. It shows how to draw the main character's of Avatar quite well. But it leaves me wanting more. Drawing Aang in a pose is great, but I want to draw him in other poses. I like drawing Katara and Toph, but what about Haru, Mai,Ty Lee and Suki? And lots more on Appa would be cool too. But what it does have, it does well.If you are a fan of Avatar, and you are an artist. This is just the book for you.

Needs more steps!
This book has great step by step directions on how to draw the main characters of ATLA. The steps are clear, and also in the book are little tidbits of information on Avatar, which is nice. However, the steps are too few, as my 10 yr old brother who i bought this for struggles to draw Aang in five steps. Overall, this is a nice book, and my only complaint is the steps on how to draw are too brief.

Great learning to draw book
We got this book for my nephews for Christmas, they are 10 and 8 and absolutely loved Avatar, the 10 year old was drawing that afternoon which as you can imagine with all the other Christmas toys a drawing book was a surprise. The way they are taught in this book is great compared to the other simple drawing books this has real shape and technique breaking down complex characters into basic shapes. Within a week the 10 year old was drawing the characters amazingly well and the 8 year old was having fun too watching himself draw his favorite characters. It was a hit!

Cute little book
Cute little book, but short. It pretty much shows you how to draw the major characters in limited poses. It assumes the owner knows a little something about comic art drawing; it's not for someone who doesn't know how to draw at all. I like it and I'll enjoy working with it, but it has limitations.

A gift for a friend
I got this for my boss's daughter who shares a fondness for this show with me. She is an AMAZING artist and I needed to spend $5 more to get free shipping so I saw this. She loves this book and her artwork has improved greatly from just a few days practicing with these instructions. I would recommend this to anyone who loves to draw, especially anime characters.

Good for beginners
My 12 year old daughter bought this for herself because she wanted to learn how to draw the Avatar characters. The book looks very nice, is good quality and teaches you how to draw 11 different characters including, Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Appa, Momo, Toph, Princess Azula, Uncle Iroh, Jet, and Roku. The only thing my daughter complained about is that most of the characters are posing in a standing position rather than being active. That wasn't enough for her since she is very good at drawing cartoons. After drawing a few of them she opted for finding pictures on the net to copy instead. She still loves the book but that is because she is into Avatar right now.

Five Stars
Great :)

Good.
It gives a good overview of the characters and what they look like; their anathomy, clothes, poses... For both the skilled and newbie cartoonist.

Two Stars
Tiny book and you get to design only one posture for each character.
