Great for sports
My daughter has had 2 ankle surgeries and on vacation this summer rolled her ankle and had a grade 2 sprain. It was adviced to us that we get her a brace while she participates in sports to help prevent her ankle rolling again. We have purchased a few different types for different reasons such as styles, comfort and type of brace and protection it may offer. This brace was easy to put on and strap, she will be able to wear this for volleyball and basketball. It will decrease her ankle movement due to the stiff sides.. But this is what we wanted so she had good support and stability. We are very happy with this brace.

Amazing Ankle Brace, but doesn't last.
As ankle braces go, this is amazing. Best I have ever used.Unfortunately, they break.Mine has just broken where the bottom-side support meets the bottom cross piece (that goes under the foot).I'm reading a bunch of other reviews where the same thing has happened.I read on one post that the manufacturer replaced theirs, but I can't figure out how to do that. (Anyone know?)Anyway, bought mine in Oct-2014. Broken Mar-2015 (5 months of 2-3 times a week usage). Not BAD, but not great considering the price.I will probably buy a replacement (if I can't figure out how to get in contact with the manufacturer). But, not happy about it.Word to the manufacturer: Find a way to reinforce that bottom part. There's enough reviews here with the same issue that you're getting a reputation. Not the good kind. I honestly want to give you a 5 star review. These are amazing when they are whole.UPDATE: I bought two braces (one for each ankle) together in October 2014. This review was originally written because the brace I used on my right ankle broke. Well, the one bought for my left ankle just broke (March 30, 2015). So, they both broke in the same month. Meaning, these have roughly the same life span. So, expect these not to last more than 6 months of regular usage.

Great brace for basketball
My son dislocated his ankle last January playing high school basketball. After a few months of healing and rehab he ran the last track meet of the school year and cross country season using a lace up style brace ... he really disliked it. His physical therapist recommended a hinge style brace, especially for the upcoming basketball season. We started off with one of these and he really liked the comfort and support it gave. The new shoes from Nike arrived for the new season and the whole team had mixed feelings about them. They really liked the insoles and grip, but hated the lack of support in the ankles. After a couple of more sprains (none as bad as my son's dislocation, thank God) the whole team is now wearing an assortment of ankle braces to prevent further sprains. My son now plays with two of the Active Ankle Volt braces and is very pleased with them.I have no idea why Amazon doesn't fix the heading on this product. For some reason it comes up showing the T2 product name when you put it in your cart. When it arrives it is indeed the Volt.

This is a great product to protect ankle from rolling sideways on the ...
This is a great product to protect ankle from rolling sideways on the court. I've purchased a number of them over the years. They are uncomfortable until you get used to them, but for playing volleyball where there is occasional incidents of contact at the net, it is well worth the protection. I've witnessed a number of incidents of broken ankles, sometimes resulting in bad knee injuries, which led many of us to wear these braces. I was wearing them on top of my orthotic which i found to be comfortable however wears out the plastic pad quickly. Im now following the instructions (loll) and wearing them below my orthotic but find the new one is rubbing my ankle bone - wondering if i should have order a medium instead of the recommended small due to my orthotic. No doubt that i will get used to it by dialing it in.

Totally Worth It!
I hurt my ankle during volleyball practice while blocking (worst thing EVER) and I had seen other players wearing this so I got one too. I truly believe it helped my ankle heal so much better. At first I actually wore another brace underneath because i was scared, but a few months later I still wear it but on it's own. It's super comfortable and adjustable to your needs. It made me feel very supported while I played and wasn't stiff at all. I love how it came with a pamphlet showing exercises to help you heal! It arrived quickly, in good condition, and looks durable enough to last me far into the future. Thinking of getting another one for my other ankle just to be as safe as possible.

I Could Be Happy If They Were More Durable!
This product breaks easily where the brace meets the bottom. May daughter goes through 1-2 of these every year. I'll be happy to switch brands if a competitor comes up with a similar design with stronger materials. Unfortunately this is the model my daughter prefers so I'll keep shelling out the cash until she's done with volleyball or a different brand introduces a superior product. If some of the other brands would move from laces to Velcro I believe they could have a lot of new customers. The Volt model has a slight improvement over the T2 model. The T2 model is foam lined which may peel away along the edges and can cause some discomfort (assuming it doesn't break at the bottom first). The Volt model is fleece lined and the padding doesn't peel away.

Prevent playing time loss to minor injuries.
Bought these last year for my daughter's first year of club volleyball. We had no issues as they did their job of protecting against ankle sprains and minor injuries. She hasn't been wearing them this season - you can guess what happened last night. This brand is popular in our club and they do what they are supposed to do. Price on Amazon was $20 better than the local sporting goods stores. Don't think about it - get the four you or your child and don't lose playing time due to a minor preventable injury.
