People claiming these aren’t Italian cards are mistaken. Different regions of Italy traditionally used different types of cards. These are used in northern Italy. The cards that have suits such as cups, coins, clubs, and ships are typically southern Italian regional cards. Try the Neapolitan or Sicilian decks. One star reviews of this product aren’t true.

My wife and I love these cards. Being of Tuscan descent myself these cards are a great way to connect with my heritage and to have fun - Scopa is a great Italian game! Modiano is a great company and these cards are very high quality and they feature the "standard" French suits that we are used to playing with (clubs, hearts, diamonds, spades) while some of the other Italian Regional decks feature different suits (swords, coins, clubs)

Major nostalgia from these beautiful Tuscan Modianos. If you grew up playing briscola with the spinsters next door in Firenze like I did, these will bring back warm memories. The Jack of Diamonds is as dashing as ever.

This set does not have the proper suits. I received a deck with hearts, clubs, diamonds, and spades. These are not Italian playing cards. True Italian playing cards have the following suits: cups, coins, batons, and swords. I would not recommend purchasing this product at all.
