Science Essentials, Grades 3 - 4

I love this workbook's many engaging activities for 3-4th grade. Daughter is just getting into it. I love the Periodic Table in back w/ elements as stickers. I already know that she'll enjoy doing it. There are lots of hands-on activities and experiments, including the "erupting volcano" one that I've always wanted to try. This workbook doesn't "beat over the head" with evolution (got over dinosaurs and claim that earth is MILLIONS of years old on the first page). In short, I haven't seen other references to evolution yet (and do not see it in glossary) and that is encouraging for creationist-minded homeschooling families. Great workbook!

Good supplemental material for home study. Lessons are short enough to be fun, but have some meat. The biggest drawback is the book introduces a subject with little or no preparation. This can be solved by using the DK Astronomy or Universe books for further information. As a stand-alone science book, I would not recommend this book, but as a tool to encourage early research skills, this book will do nicely.

I really like this company of this book. They make it very interesting and with so many activities, games, and proyects. It is a very complete book. Highly Recomended!

We've had this for about 6 months now and I use for homeschooling my 10 yo. This workbook is not a complete lesson book, however, it gives the basic information and research will be needed to understand completely. I do like the hands on projects and ideas.

Kids can even read this book themselves and understand it. There is less supervision required. My daughter does itt. She is home schooled and she loves it. Home schooling is the way to go with books like these. Thanks

Not what I expected. This workbook seems as if someone took the lazy way to get a workbook out. Frequently there isn’t reading information provided for unit questions. Questions are listed with the instructions to “look up the answers from other sources “ “find resources to research the answer “. A lot of stopping and going to outside information to complete chapters.

Great product - will be very helpful for my children's (two grade two students that enjoy science) progress and gives and extra activity for rainy days :)
