A Great Action Movie
This wonderful gem--based on a comic book of the same name--features Wesley Gibson, a mild-mannered accountant working at a big firm, who is stifled in every area of his life. Work, girlfriend, money--everything frustrates him...but he can't seem to muster up the courage to speak up for himself. Plus, he has to fight constant migraines, which he takes medication for and assumes are due to his frustrating life. But he's about to find out that there's a lot more to him than he ever could have imagined.Featuring James McAvoy (who, prior to this was mostly known for playing Paul Bettany's brother in Wimbledon and Mr. Tumnus in the first Chronicles of Narnia), who is still far away from being Professor X at this point, this movie also has Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie in key roles (and even features a young Chris Pratt, as Wesley's office mate and cheating lover of Wesley's girlfriend).Wesley is approached out of the blue by Fox (Jolie), who tells him that his headaches aren't migraines--that in fact, they're due to his heart beating more than 200 times per minute because he's the son of a specialized assassin. Wesley thinks she's nuts...until he gets caught in the middle of an insane firefight between Fox and a mysterious man who seems to be hunting him. Wesley is eventually introduced to The Fraternity, a league of assassins that Fox is a member of, and which is led by a man named Sloan (Freeman). He finds out that these unique people have all sorts of crazy skills that no one else has, and that using a Loom Of Fate, which produces cloth that somehow determines who Fate wants to be eliminated, they have been the agents who eliminate problems for 1,000 years.Wesley is told that the mysterious man Fox had the gun battle with is a rogue member of this Fraternity who killed his father and is trying to eliminate the other members, and that Wesley is the only one who can follow in his father's footsteps and track him down. But first, he has to learn from the other Fraternity members how to do close-quarter combat, knife fighting, reduce his reactions to pain, shoot, and most incredibly of all, bend bullets in flight with his mind.Through it all, Wesley starts to become a stronger person, more willing to speak up on his own behalf, and become a cool, confident man like his father was. He is eventually sent on kill missions, where the amazing talents of himself and Fox are put on wonderful display. Eventually, he is faced with Cross (Thomas Kretschmann), the rogue assassin...and a hugs twist in the narrative that will leave him reeling and wondering just who is who.Featuring a lot of Matrix-style action and gun play, this movie will keep you thoroughly entertained throughout.

Another great Comic Book movie!!!!
This is a great addition to any " Comic book based movie" collection. This action movie introduces the most unlikely hero to ever come out of a comic book! Full of action & plot twists you find yourself rooting for a Anti-hero who transforms from a man who has excepted a basically humiliating life mistaking his super powers for anxiety attacks & trudging day to day relying on socially excepted drugs to suppress his desire to change his life. Suddenly he finds himself hunted by a assassin, rescued by a mysterious beauty & forced to realize his true potential...not wanting to give out to many spoilers I will just say this is the point where the Rollercoaster ride goes' beyond stopping & the action becomes relentless! Danny Elfman is well known for his great movie scores from " Batman" to " A Nightmare before Christmas" & many more including this movie. What really blew my mind is the song " The Little Things" it was not just a good rock & roll song added in this movie but a song created & performed by Danny Elfman himself for this movie with the exception of the vocals. I think the song is good enough to have made the top 50 had it been released as a single. Instead it is only available by purchasing the soundtrack for " Wanted". D.C. really got the comic books turned to movies rolling in the late 70's with the " Superman" franchise & continued to dominate with the " Batman" franchise...now Marvel has taken the lead but with the revised " Darker Batman & Superman" movies along with " The Suicide Squad" it looks like D.C. is gaining speed again. But check out some of the great underground & smaller comic books turned into movies like " Wanted". There is a lot more fun escapist fantasy out there & it doesn't have to come from Marvel or D.C. !!!

Starts slowly and matures into a great movie
4 of 5 stars to this crazy action movie. Combine Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie and you have a powerful combination. When this movie first starts it starts slowly and seems like a dumb movie about a nerd kid. In fact, I almost turned it off. What's cool is that minute by minute this movie gets better and better. By the end, you have a powerful action movie with solid characters. At first it jumps around a bit with the kid having dreams and some visual experiences that you don't know if they're true or not.The story is about the son of a secret agent who gets recruited into the agency (The Fraternity). Thru the whole movie, you have to suspend your thinking as things border on fantasy rather than reality (e.g. kid gets shot, they put him into a stone bathtub with fluid that repairs him; or you can make a bullet go around solid objects by putting "spin" into the bullet). Anyway, they train him and set him into the field as an assassin. Oh, did I mention the truck load of rat bombs? Well, they're part of the big ending...A good movie, alot of fun though a bit "fantastic". Good action and some nice special effects. I understand this was originated from a comic book which might explain the "fantastic" actions. Worth watching this!

An Action-Packed Thrill Ride with a Unique Twist
If you’re into action films that don’t just rely on explosions, but also bring a clever and engaging storyline, Wanted is definitely worth your time. It’s fun, thrilling, and delivers everything you want in a high-energy action flick.

Comic Book That Took Itself too seriously.
I can't go into too much detail to avoid spoilers, but this movie had potential. This "nobody" had a great chance to become "somebody," and the plot seemed to be chugging along well. However, at times, the movie became quite improbable, and had very silly scenes in it. The movie really took itself seriously at times, and was a bad mix of "comic book" and "realism." It was entertaining for the most part, but could have been so much better.
