Ok, so I've never been a huge fan of OtterBox's products in the past as they usually seem to double the size of the phone to begin with. That was until today... I had my first official testing of what OtterBox is designed to do. The day started like any other. Got out of bed, had my shower, ate my breakfast and on to tooth brushing. That was when everything changed... Starring deep into the mirror, verifying that I didn't miss another chuck of bacon stuck to my tooth, my phone starts ringing. I reach and pull it from my pocket, pulling to eye level when the dreaded event transpired... Airborne. The phone slipped from my sudsy hand. As I watch the camera become visible just to disappear time after time, the laws of physics took ownership of my phone. Toppling and tumbling, my phone streamlined to the tile floor, landing square on the open face of the OtterBox encased S8. As I watched my future paychecks bounce nearly a foot off the ground, the fatal near future reality of lost contacts, pictures, songs, calls and messages flooded my consciousness. Watching my phone jostle to a rest face down on the tile floor, I reached for my phone expecting the worst. Turning the phone over to look at the screen, I was frozen solid by what I saw... Nothing... absolutely nothing... exactly what was expected from a non-oped phone. Starring into the void of the blackened screen, looking for the signs of the shattered LCD, the phone lights up as the missed caller tried again. Still dazed and confused, I answered with uncertainty in my voice. The rambling of an automated recording regarding my prescription bellowed from the ear piece. Quickly I end the call and proceed to test all possibly issues caused from the near 5 foot drop... once again, nothing... absolutely nothing!!! The phone is mint, the case immune, the only evidence is a cracked screen protector!!! I entered the world of OtterBox as a biased skeptic. I am leaving as a tried and true unwavering devotee. Well played OtterBox, well played!

Just got my Otterbox this weekend and I have to say it is a great case for a great price.Highlights:1. The case is not overly bulky. It is a rubber/neoprene like case that has a plastic bezel over it for all around body protection. The shape of the case allows the edges to be accessible yet is still pronounced at the top and bottom edge so that the face/screen is protected in case the phone falls face first on a flat surface. If it is a jagged surface, your screen won't have any protection. I can't take any points off for this as you can get a screen protector separately and it is not billed as part of the case. That would be like complaining that your meal didn't come with a salad when they already told you you don't get a salad but you can buy it ala carte.2. I have a wireless charger and the phone does charge through the case.3. One of the problems I had with the S8 was that I could never hear the audio as I held the phone in landscape orientation. My fingers naturally blocked the speaker. Now with the case on, my fingers don't block the speaker. I guess you *could* see this as a negative since I used to be able to quickly mute my phone by covering the speaker.Lowlights:I haven't really come across any with the case. It feels solid, gives very good access and protection for the form factor of the phone and allows me to charge both wired and wirelessly. I am very happy with this purchase. If I had to say one, it would be that Amazon lowered the price by about a dollar after I already ordered mine. At this price you should go buy one!

I ordered this a little over a year ago. Great investment! I did have my doubts but time removed them. I don't use screen protectors and I'm generally good about maintaining control of my phone. However, in those absent minded moments, this case has saved my phone multiple times. I've dropped my phone on concrete, pavement, stone flooring, and tile. No damage came to my phone. It does what it's designed to do.Speaking of design, I really like the low profile and smooth-back design. It slips and fits well in pockets, backpacks, and my EDC "man bag". It also does well with dashboard mounts. Plus, for those rare moments, it's not difficult to remove and replace the phone from the case. The only damage to the case happened yesterday: I dropped it at home and the small plastic bar above the charging port broke off but that's it. Not a lot to criticize.All in all, great product!Note: For those who work in tough environments (aka: not an office), don't trust themselves when handling their devices, or just want more peace of mind, I would recommend something else, like the Defender series of cases or something like them. They have more layers for greater protection. That does come with a few drawbacks but in the end it's the buyers' responsibility to decide what's best for them.Cheers, y'all!

It was delivered on time, but it did not fit my phone. This was a second try at an Amazon order to get the correct case. Both times, the case was too short and the holes were in the wrong place. I eventually order from another store and got the correct case.

i love this case. im writing this review after dropping my phone face down on a hard surface from several feet for maybe the 6th time since i started using this case. with my old spiegen case, if i dropped my phone face down the screen protector would crack. i went through a lot of screen protectors. the case just did not protect the screen. this otterbox case has a lip on the top and bottom of the phone that extends past the screen so even when i drop it face down the screen isnt touched (unless the phone falls on a protruding surface). i tend to drop my phone a lot and this case is super durable without being too bulky and is perfect for me. it is still quite comfortable to hold in my hands even though i have small hands. the only thing i miss about the spiegen is the kickstand. and i wish the case had maybe some more rubber detailing for grip. its mostly a hard shell so it can slip out of my hands easily. which i guess isnt too big of a problem because the case really serves its purpose!

I likely won't use an Otterbox on my next phone, I will try another brand, I find the quality is slipping with Otterbox. I have one and my wife does as well (we both have the Samsung S8). My wife's case broke (in half along the back) after only a year of use and the phone is fine and never was abused or bashed about. Mine on the other hand didn't serve it's purpose when my phone fell out of my hands while walking and then hit the concrete sidewalk my phone screen cracked across. FAIL, that was the entire reason I bought this case, yet it offered no protection other than from scratching, from a simple fall of 3 feet. Lastly, when we contacted Otterbox to warranty my wife's case and showed them photos, they had no issue replacing the case however charged us over $10 cdn for the "replacement warranty" case. What a scam, this 1 cent piece of plastic / rubber junk that they already rip you off for at retail price then scam you out of another $10+ dollars when their poor quality product fails. I'm done with you Otterbox. I remember back when your company was good and had the market cornered. Excellent warranty and great product, now Otterbox is just cheap made overseas overpriced junk with no good warranty support despite their exorbitant prices charged.

Got this for the kid's 1st phone - inherited from me. Doesn't bulk up the phone too much for the smaller hands.
