Blue Sadie Premium Headphones with Built-in Amp (formerly called Mo-Fi)

I am a professional audio engineer who has burned through many headphones through the past 20 years and have enjoyed these the most. I was training an AZ Conservatory of Recording Arts graduate for a Front of House mix job and he brought these in, as they were recommended by his school. WOW, what a fit! They are unlike any others and would fit any head perfectly because they are fluidly adjustable in 3 ways as they are slipped into position.As soon as I was listening, I noticed a diminishment of ear fatigue from harsher frequencies and became more interested. During front of house mix work, my old "cans" broke mid mixing and found these for just $95 on Amazon in March 2022. Back at the board 3 days later, I first checked to see that they were still in production and immediately accepted the great deal. They list for over $300, today they are $132. The fit is perfect for all, like no other. Still with the 3 mechanical points of fluid adjustments, I ALWAYS handle them with care. They deserve that.The sound is also versatile with their built-in amplifier which only turns on if the switch is on AND the phones are on your head. They are rechargeable but hold their charge for months because I seldom use the amplifier. Low level audio signals from phone, ipad or my TV remote with built in phone/earbud plug-in is very useful. The amp has two levels and both are very much louder than when off. The first time I used the internal amp is from not hearing a singer. I wondered... 'what is that new guy singing?" while mixing 6 singers and 6 musicians. He was soft when solo’ed, so I turned on the internal amp. Wow I could hear him well; I adjusted his sound and turned up his in-ear monitors. Now with confidence, he sang louder and better fitting into the mix.The SOUND is full and rich without ear fatigue from 2000 - 4000 Hz harshness; the bottom is clean and discernable, as low as 15 Hz, without any of the muddy lake that the room may create above 94 Db. I feel confident that what is being live broadcast, is in my ears as I endeavor to adjust the room to sound more like this headphone. The room's sound attenuation from the perfectly fitting ear pads, may be 15 Db?, therefore a loud room is easily separated from what I can hear or isolated through listening though these phones.At home, especially to discern the environmental film sounds, I found that sometimes I'll turn on the amp on when using my ipad audio or especially with the earbud port in the TV remote to yield pro amp level signal; but you must turn the devices output down or the phones are much too loud at the set internal amps volume. With the completely adjustable ear locations, I can let my head sink into the pillow, rotate the top band forward and adjust the ear cups for a comfortable lay and listen on a pillow. No phones have allowed that before. Their nearly 1-pound weight has not been noticeable after getting used to their size. For the last 260 days since purchasing them, I use these Blue Sadie headphones about 4 to 6 hours per day at work and at home and they are just as strong now and have shown no wear. I transport them in a Slappa, full size hardbody pro headphone case, $22: I was so grateful that they fit to safely transport them anywhere.If and when these break, I will buy another pair.

Easily the best headphones I've ever put on my head. I produce a bit and listen to music almost constantly - I no longer feel like I have to strain myself to hear the really fine details of music. These suckers are comfortable, too.Even when the amp is off, you get superb audio. The amp does exactly what you'd want it to - louder, with virtually no distortion. The 'boosted' amp (when you turn the switch all the way up) seems to be a bit gimmicky in that it really doesn't add much at lower volumes and seems to add too much at higher volumes - it takes a bit of tweaking and I don't really get much out of it personally.Amazing box presentation, they feel extremely sturdy - I am a little worried about the plug that goes into the headset itself (the long, skinnier plug) - if it ever broke, it's pretty clear you'd have to get a replacement from Blue themselves. Hopefully that never happens, but just something to think about. Quite minor in relation to the awesome overall quality.Will definitely look into the Ellas later in life; they seem like a great investment.UPDATE: Months later and these are still going strong. I had to super glue the volume piece back together as whatever adhesive they used wasn't the greatest. I've also noticed that the amp charge doesnf last long so I don't really use it much at all.However, these guys have endured plane rides, DJ sets, extensive use all around and some acute incidents of abuse - and they still look and sound like new. I don't think I see any scuffs on them, let alone anything else major.The pads still feel like new and even after getting squished around in backpacks and overhead bins and whatnot, they are still as puffy and comfortable as the day I bought them.If I'm being super critical, the joints that hold the cups up have loosened a slight bit. I bet I could perhaps tighten something to fix it but it's so innocuous that I've never felt the need to do anything about it.Seriously, if you're even thinking about buying these, just do it. You will not be disappointed.

My only real gripe with these headphones is unfortunately they fall into the trap of LARGE Brands and use a proprietary cable to connect to the headphones. At the time of this review a year after my purchase there are still replacements available should that need arise.Sound quality has been clear and smooth whilst using my DAC (IFI ZEN DAC)Comfortable with thick cushioned earcups that add a level of passive noise canceling.If you can find these available at discount as they are a older product, i recommend them.

excelente auriculares, tanto en modo amplificado como en pasivo, excelente calidad de constrruccion, muy solidos ,sobresaliente en el desempaquetado, los pads de excelente calidad y el sistema de ajuste no solo es curioso sino eficiente (especialmente si eres cabezon) sin embargo esta construccion mas el apmpli integrado los hace pesados, no son incomodos,al contrario, estan muy acolchados y son en general comodos, pero no creo que alguen pueda soportarlos mas de dos o tres horas. el cable es propietrario y el del microfono se abrio en el minuto 1, no puedo devolverlo porque se perdio la tapa, pero bueno, un poco de cinta y no es problema, tampoco es que nececite del microno peeeero hay que comentarlo para que no se sorprendan los futuros compradores.en cuanto al audio es fantastico! brilla muchisimo en modo amplificado y en modo pasivo con una buena fuente van excelentes, tienen una imagen y resolucion fantastica aunque el soundstage es muy poco sobresaliente (casi nulo) . el tercer modo (on+) es complicado de usar, satura muchisimo los medios en demerito de la experiencia general de uso, no obstante hay generos que se favorecen mucho!en fin, por el precio, son un excelente trato!le pongo 5 estrellas porque a pesar del problema con el cable de micfrofono lo demas esta tan pero tan bien, que se lo puedo pasar sin problemas, ademas es posible que fuera solo mi unidad)

The sound quality is excellent, the tone is balanced and quite neutral in passive mode and regular amplified mode. The bass boost amplified mode adds a bit of fun and walks a line between adding some low end boost without being silly. Of course you can use EQ to play with the tuning.The concept of an onboard amplifier is great despite being wired, it makes these even better value as you don't need a separate amplifier and you will get frankly dangerous volume levels from any smartphone/device dongle or headphone jack. And you don't need the battery as they work perfectly well in passive mode, although volume will be less.Isolation is good, they're not noise cancelling but for most purposes the passive isolation is fine. Although these are perfect for using with mobile devices they're really a domestic headphone which work especially well with mobile devices, not portable headphones for use outside.Although bulky they are comfortable, normally the weight is not an issue, however I do feel the weight if I tilt my head forward or back. Despite the complex and unusual design they are extremely comfortable, adjustment is by controlling the angle of the ear cup link.Finally, price and value. I think these were originally USD400. Given the premium materials and build quality, excellent sound and very powerful built in amplifier I think USD400 is not unreasonable and they certainly compare very favourably with other USD400 options. However, at the moment they are USD95 or SGD143, which is frankly crazy and makes these insanely good value. An absolute no brainer, I honestly cannot think of a better value product in audio at the moment. Even if you're not looking for new headphones, at this price they're worth buying just to have an excellent spare headphone. Alternatively, for USD95/SGD143 you can buy all the headphone you will ever need. 5*.

Excelente sonido, no tiene soundstage pero a cambio es un sonido claro, intenso y dinámico que hará géneros como metal, rock alternativo más inmersos porque los sentirás dentro de tu cabeza. NOTA: APRIETAN MUY FUERTE, ES NECESARIO AFLOJARLOS PARA QUE SEAN CÓMODOS, YO UTILICE UNA PILA DE LIBROS PARA MANTENERLOS SEPARADOS POR 4 DÍAS CONTINUOS HASTA QUE EL RESORTE DISMINUYO LA TENSION.
