Travel Smart by Conair Travel Mini Hair Straightener

I am going to Europe and needed a duel voltage straightener. I thought that a mini would be great because it would be more light weight and compact. But this was way too small and it doesn't really get that hot. I have fine, mostly straight hair already, and this only kind of works for me. I would not think that this would work for anyone with thick or curly hair. The plates are way smaller than I thought- less than half an inch wide and about 2 inches long. Please use a ruler before buying this so you can see how small this is. The plates do glide smoothly through my hair. I think that if it got hotter it would still work ok. If someone else needs a dual voltage straightener for travel, I would recommend just getting a 1 inch size instead. It's probably the same price anyway.

I love the size, it packs quite wonderfully! I also love that there is a sleeve to pack it in, especially when you are in a hurry and the iron is still warm. Unfortunately, the iron doesn't get very hot. The plates are quite small, so if you have thick or coarse hair, you should plan to be at it for longer than you want (after all, when you are traveling, you are usually in a hurry to get to your next meeting or site-seeing or dinner. If you plan to do just the top or front, where you don't need it to be that hot, it's fine. Just plan to straighten only a very small amount of hair at a time.

Last year I traveled to several European countries for vacation. I was advised by a friend to buy travel hair styling products with dual voltage. I purchased this one and the Conair mini curling iron as well as a mini hair dryer. Not only did they work, with a plug adapter of course, but they are small so it doesn't add that much weight to your luggage. However, I have very straight hair naturally and it is usually no longer than shoulder length. If you have long hair that has a lot of body, or you do a lot of styling with these products you may want to get full-size products.

this is shorter and thinner than i expected which made me think that it wouldn't work well/it would take a lot of time to get my hair done, but suprisingly it works really good. it gets hot really fast (1-3min to get to its hottest state) and it's perfect for traveling cause of the size. i'm just in qualms about how long the lifespan of this product. it's doesn't seem too sturdy and it feels like it could break easily.

I purchased this for an upcoming trip to Iceland and Norway. I don't want to take a hair dryer and am hoping this will tame my wavy hair after air drying. I have tried it a couple of time and it heats quickly. I have short hair and it works fine for me. I like to travel case as I can pack it away immediately after using and not wait for it to cool down.

This was a purchase for a trip to Europe. I needed something smaller than my regular straightener and this was certainly smaller! I have a lot of hair and it's past my shoulders, so this was not really the best for my hair needs, but it heats up quickly and works well. I keep this in my travel bag, but it's not my day to day straightener for sure.

Great little flatiron for SMALL jobs. I have thick hair down the middle of my back and there is NO WAY I would tackle the job of straightening my whole head of hair with this little guy. However, if I blow it dry straight and then finish it off with this, it works quite dandy. I mainly used this for my bangs.

Got this for a backpacking trip through Japan, totally works on my fine hair. I use it mostly to straighten my ends as they can flip in weird directions when my hair air dries. I got the 1 1/4" curling iron in the same size by conair. I found that one to work better than the straightener and used it more.
