The Ukulele Songbook: Hymns & Songs of worship

Absolutely one of the best song books out there. I like the fact that this book is intelligently written with an opening song content page, appendix, and with 50 songs, all with full verses, and chords, tabs, etc. The back of the book has listing of "basic chords" which have about 12 chords owe note, including 6ths, 7ths, flats, minors, majors sus4, etc. and about 16 strum patterns, and 29 pick patterns! See my photos.There are lots of traditional Christmas songs, gospel songs, worship songs making a nice medley of material to play and sing to.Someone complained that the second and third verses are listed along side or below the song but this is a minor distraction and once you know the song and chords from the first verses and chorus, it is easy to tackle the next verses. The chords are easy and easy to follow..I'd the other books by this company are this good, I'll be adding more soon.

Hymns are in various keys, and the melody tabs are really nice if you don't read the treble clef. The included hymns have from 2-8 chords, but most have 3-5 chords. As in all of Balinger's uke books, there is a wonderful section in the back with helpful strumming patterns and finger-picking patterns for those who want to play beyond beginner strumming.

Nice book. has many of the traditional gospel songs that us old timers love. For me, the font could be larger making it easier to read, but it's still a great volume. It includes tabs and chords. Also all the lyrics to the songs. It has large chord diagrams too, in case you come across a new chord you haven't played before. If you play the ukulele and you like traditional gospel hymns, you need this book.

This songbook is inexpensive, but it is a waste of money. As someone who has sung in church for 40 years, I was very disappointed in the chord choices in this book. On the back it states, "This book is aimed at the beginning to intermediate ukulele player and with that in mind the songs have been transposed to 'easy' ukulele keys." But the product of that is a collection of songs that simply do not sound right. Plus there are multiple songs where a chord change has been left out. Old favorites sound like they have been transposed by someone who has never heard the song before. I am very disappointed with this product.

I'm mostly a self taught beginner and this is perfect for me to practice my skills as I'm very familiar with most all of these songs. I reviewed many books and this one is one of the most user friendly. I also bought this book as a gift to my best uke buddy!

Enjoyed having these songs written in a manner easy to play!!

I’m a beginner player. I learn faster when I know the songs. This is an easy chord book for me to start on because I quickly could play. And I have more to learn. I like the chords shown on each song as quick reference so I can learn quickly.

Thrilled with the hymns included and very grateful that the chords are pictured beside the song. My only complaint is that some of the words for extra verses are mixed up. The page beside "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee" has words to "Fairest Lord Jesus" and next to "Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing" are the words for verses of "O Worship the King." Still, I can always get out the hymnal for the right verses.
