Helpful device for neck pain
This traction device has been very helpful in alleviating my stiff neck pain. It is easy to use and I found it quite sturdy. The carrying case makes it convenient to take with you while traveling. Fits easily over any door.

Cumbersome but very effective
It definitely works, wish it was more comfortable , but it does indeed create some traction in the cervical area.. I use it almost every other day.

Better than any cervical traction I have tried
Prior to this, I have used the device from the home health stores made out of white canvas attached to a plastic bag that holds water for weight. I thought that one was OK, as it did the job. But this is such an improvement on that design. It’s much easier to set up, feels better on your head, and it’s much easier to control the traction tension. At first I was concerned that it held my head in the wrong position but then realized that I was sitting on a chair with a thick back rest. The problem was solved when I switched to a backless stool to sit on that allowed me to sit with my back against the door.Highly recommend this product. By the way I have a two level fusion in my neck.

Works better than most that I’ve tried, but pulls too much on the chin
There are several reasons that I sent this back, The first reason is the design, the majority of the pull is on your chin, not the occipital area which is where cervical traction is supposed to come from. Pulling from the chin tilts your head backwards, which increases the curvature of your c-spine, which if you have an issue with your neck this is a really bad thing, and will cause more pain. When doing cervical traction the pull is supposed to come from the occipital area, this is the area on the back of your head that sticks out. However, compared to most cheaper traction devices on the market, this one is not as bad as some of the others. But for me as I have multiple issues in my neck, not just a pinched nerve, but I have permanent spasms, I did get some relief from it at first, but after the third day of using this, the muscles in the front of my neck started to get really sore, the strain of being stretched up by my chin was actually causing muscle strain, this is when I decided to send it back. It is also quite awkward to get in by yourself especially if you are in pain. You shouldn’t be using neck traction unless you have a problem in the first place, and if you have a problem then you probably have pain, and lifting your arms above your head and trying to get yourself in the right position and hook everything in and find the pulley is quite difficult when you’re in pain. It is a good price, and it does give some traction, out of the cheap options that are out there, this is probably one of the better ones, and if it’s all you can get/afford then using it carefully and in moderation would probably help.

Traction for 20 minutes for a few days; after manipulation is the only way to solve neck trouble.
The head and neck strap is more comfortable than other brands. Years ago I was a Palmer College graduate chiropractor. This traction device solved my neck & shoulder aches after one chiropractic adjustment. It works better than another traction device that I had little luck with. If you have neck pain, manipulation coupled with traction at home is the only method of treatment that will solve your problem. Period.Massage, deep heat, etc. help, but are only palliative and not lasting. Once a day, hang it over a door, sit down with mild tension on your neck for twenty minutes, and your sore neck will feel better within a few days. Change your pillow too. The feathers and stuffing loose their support over time.
