Limited double white vinyl LP pressing in gatefold sleeve including digital download. Original soundtrack score to the 2015 motion picture composed by Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow. For this soundtrack, the duo join forces for a second time since their creation of Drokk, their unused score for 2012 motion picture Dredd, to create the dark, synth heavy score for Ex Machina. The film has enjoyed rave reviews including Sight & Sound naming it their 'Film Of The Week' and the Guardian describing it as a ''dazzlingly good-looking technological thriller''. Ex Machina is the directorial debut of Alex Garland, the man behind 28 Days Later and Sunshine. It stars a trio of rising stars - Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, and Alicia Vikander, who portrays a robot built to test the boundaries between humans and machines. Includes the 10 tracks included in the film and a bonus LP of material and cues not used in the main album.

Chilling electronic soundtrack
Ex Machina is an excellent movie, and the soundtrack takes an odd turn by lulling the listener into a false sense of security with childlike motifs and relaxing electronic groves. It certainly gets intense when it reaches its conclusion, though not losing its serene roots.Getting the second disc doesn't add much; the major musical ideas are all there in the original album.

An amazing score for a brilliant sci-fi film
An amazing score for a brilliant sci-fi film. You don't get sci-fi better than this these days and the musical score accompanying it added to the movie's thrills. The main theme that attracted me was "hacking cutting" even when I was watching the movie. The rest of the score I could appreciate more when I was listening to it after I had already watched the movie. I think one of the composers is from Portishead (not sure) but nevertheless it was a job well done. Packaging was sturdy and the delivery was speedy. Highly recommended, two thumbs way up!!!

Unfortunately it's true, poor pressing and sound quality with this on vinyl....
Love the actual soundtrack but on vinyl I'm afraid it really does sound like what another reviewer posted in that it has a ton of surface noise that pretty much ruins the experience. I'm only through 2 tracks so far but more or less leaning on returning it and more or less going to hesitate ordering vinyl on amazon again as it's been hit or miss quality wise.

From A Machine
Now that Stephen Hawking is cautioning us regarding Artificial Intelligence, perhaps we all aught to pay more attention to this gem of a film. The score is most evocative and I for one am glad that 2 Discs of soundtrack were issued.

Great background music for when you need a mental flow ...
Great background music for when you need a mental flow without mental interference. If you like a full CD of music that helps your brain/emotional flow, this is a GREAT place to start.

brilliant movie, brilliant soundtrack
brilliant movie, brilliant soundtrack. I knew the cd's would be difficult to obtain due to the subdued release of the movie, but amazon came through first class with purchasing both dvd and soundtrack. well done amazon.

Great Packaging, Decent soundtrack
Overall I think that the makers did an absolutely fantastic job on the packaging and presentation of this record. Beautiful gatefold and white vinyl pressing almost makes it more impressive to stare at rather than listen. I will say that I wished there was some sort of reading material based around the production of the music or something, but that is a minor gripe at best. Honestly the most underwhelming part of this was the music, because while I will say it is great background/ambient music, I don't really find myself wanting to sit down and listen to it. The songs seems kind of drawn out and overblown. I would recommend for a fan of the film, but not necessarily for the average joe.

Fantastic.
After a long back and forth I was finally able to get an answer on if this was the special edition of the record, the coloured one, it was and sounds great. Very quiet in parts so have a clean and good record player.
