Let the turf war begin! The ICE ROAD TRUCKERSr battle more than treacherous winter roads in Season 7 of the hit HISTORYr series. Hugh Rowland is back, this time as the boss, with his own trucking company. Bound and determined to reclaim his crown as "King of the Road" and take down well-established rival Polar Industries, he's confronted by an arsenal of heavy haulers, including Alex Debogorski and Lisa Kelly, who return to the icy roads with a goal and a grudge. With families to support, a no-nonsense work ethic and an against-all- odds determination, each trucker continues to race against the elements - and each other - keeping their eyes on the road... and the big prize.

Should be an hour long
Have the complete series from the beginning. Interesting to go back a year or two and replay the series. Same with "Ax Men".I'm still waiting for a semi & trailer to go through the ice. What are the villages and oil exploration sites going to do if the temperature stays warm and there would be no more Ice Road truckers? I guess the road engineers are going to have to put in ferry boats to take the semi's across the frozen lakes. I don't think driving your semi over the rough "roads" is doing any good for the guys prostate; recently read an article that cowboys in the saddle all the time got the cancer. They always put an ingrate bitchy person in each series. I guess that is to make the series more interesting because there probably wouldn't be much of an IRT if all the professional drivers did their thing without mishaps. The USMC have these big over water units that ride on a cushion of air so that might be a good replacement for a ferry. The ferry's would probably punch a hole in their hull and everyone goes in the icy cold. Seems to me that Alaska, for instance, should be responsible for make lake crossings safer at no cost to the trucking companies.

Let's Hope for Another Season
I haven't any idea whether season 7 truly marks the end of the series, as one poster suggests, but there's always a glimmer of hope that fan interest might just persuade the right people that a season 8 is worthwhile. Each season is reasonably priced and well worth having.Lisa Kelly and Alex Debogorski are probably my top two favorite drivers, but other drivers have left their memorable (and perhaps not so memorable) marks throughout the seasons... who can possibly forget 'you can't stop the chop', porkchop, from an earlier season?I'd also recommend getting the Deadliest Roads seasons as well, if you're truly wanting to enjoy the 'sitting on the edge of your seat' moments. Season 7 is entertaining and enjoyable.

Another great season of IRT
Excellent show, another great season of Ice Road Truckers. This program never fails to deliver on edge of your seat thrill rides in the frozen tundra. Its almost like you are riding in the passenger seat of the rigs with their massive loads and sub-par road conditions and weather. When the drivers get the chills about a certain road or condition, you feel right along with them. I've got all 7 seasons, and every one of them are well put together and entertaining, I particuarly enjoy Alex Debogorski and Hugh Rowland, they get just get you laughing with their comments while driving. Can't wait until Season 8 comes out. Highly recommended DVD set.

Great Series.
Great show. It is one of those that is so addictive I can not wait to watch another episode, then comes the wait for next season, there in is the benefit of these season-sets, you can get the past seasons and watch them while you wait for next season to release. I love having the discs to rewatch and share with family and friends after I am through. Shipped fast (2 days) and well packaged.

I'm impressed
As usual, I'm really impressed with the way some of the truckers, most notably Lisa and Daryll, can get themselves out of anything the ice roads throw in their way, whether it's fixing their trucks on the road, getting themselves out of snowbanks, dealing with an oversized load heading towards a narrow bridge, or loading a cement mixer stuck in a parking lot. The contrast with some of the other drivers and between the two companies makes this season one to watch.

Season 7 is different and really entertaining.
Although Season 7 is not filmed in Alaska, my family really loved this new series of adventures. Viewing the rivalry between VP (Hugh Rowland's company) and Polar Trucking was simply wonderful--a new event around every corner. Because this series was based on something new, we were feeling a sense of adventure and not the return of the usual. I hope they continue with a season 8. We've come to know and love these people, through their days and nights on the road, and it would be great to continue with them for awhile. We are definitely NOT disappointed in season 7--it has many, many goodies to keep your attention. We also like having so many "household names" back in the fold. Go Lisa, Alex, Darrell--we are glad to see your excellence in trucking!

So interesting
I have purchased all the Ice Roaders from Amazon from the beginning and always found the series most interesting. To think such roads even exist, not to mention the drivers. However, I was disappointed to watch Hugh and Mark go to such lengths in their competition for dominance when there was obviously enough work for both companies. I had to admire Darrell's ingenuity when it came to fixing a problem when others just stood around and his bonus was well deserved. Art did seem to be in over his head but I didn't think too much of Vlad's attitude toward him. If I had to catch a ride with any of them it would be Alex or Darrell. Lisa is certainly holding her own in a mans' world and Hugh's new driver Tod is shaping up to be a good Ice Roader. The King of Obsolete was a very interesting character, nothing seemed to phase him. His apprentice can learn a lot from him.
