Roku Express 4K+ 2021 Streaming Media Player HD/4K/HDR (Renewed)

So far, the functionality is fine. Setup was more complicated than the many other Roku devices we have in the home. Other than that, it's fine. The remote is a step up from other Roku remotes we have, as this one has a toggle to turn on microphone. Also, you can plug headphones into the remote to listen privately.

I have around 30 of these Roku streaming devices and use them throughout all of my rental properties. They are easy to set up, simple for guests to use, and make it convenient to access popular streaming apps without needing complicated equipment. The interface is straightforward, and having the same system across multiple TVs keeps things consistent from one property to another. When you buy the same device about 30 times, that probably says more than a five-star review ever could.

I purchased this unit to install on an older 40" Samsung TV in the workout room in my basement. I previously had a 2nd Gen Fire TV stick installed on it. I use the Plex app to play media content from my home server; Plex ended support for my 2nd Gen device so I needed to replace it. After doing some research, I chose to purchase the Express 4K+. I know it is not the newest model (2022), but it has all the features I need for this TV which is typically only used when working out. Set-up was very easy. I installed it in the same place where the Fire TV stick was installed, plugged it in and let it do its thing. After installing firmware updates and registering the device (I have a Roku account so this was easy), the unit was ready to go. Of course, I needed to set up my accounts on the streaming services I use (i.e. Netflix, Peacock, Amazon Video, etc.) and set it up to access my Plex server. The whole process was complete inside of an hour. One bonus that I got extremely lucky with - the Express 4K+ uses an IR remote versus the Fire TV stick which uses a proprietary technology. The TV is hooked up to an old Yahama home theater system and I use an old Harmony 650 remote to control the TV and the Yahama. Since the Express 4K+ uses an IR remote, I was able to program the Harmony remote to control it so I only need one remote for the entire set-up. When the Fire TV stick was installed, I could control it a little using HDMI-CEC but it did not work very well. Now, everything is very seamless with one remote. When I purchased the unit, I did not notice that it was "renewed" versus "new". As long as the unit lasts a while, I don't care that it is not new!

Item arrived promptly and works very well. I bought it not to access streaming services but to connect my Samsung tablet to an external monitor via Google's Smart View feature so that the contents ofvthe tablet's screen is mirrored on the display of my external monitor.

I have an old 2012 LG TV 42 SL 3400 and this remote works great with voice and can turn the TV off and on which I did not expect. It was easy to hook up, the picture is so clear and I noticed that it doesn't buffer anymore. All this time I thought it was my router that was messed up and it wasn't. So this Roku player works fine with an old LG TV that wasn't listed as a compatible device. It's faster than my old Roku player and does not buffer anymore. So this is a pretty good little device.

Works just as says. I ordered three and they are wonderful will probably order more for family. Great money saver compared to Telus. Telus is continually calling to offer me deals on t.v. service. Sorry too late!!! I love my roku!!!

just Garbage! worked for less then 10 minutes. and i had a computer geek set it up along with new computer and he says it's a Dud. No refund as it was sent to a person for their birthday present and they only use UPS and they have No ups near them.
