The Rules of Work: A definitive code for personal success

A good book for reentering the workforce after being gone for so many years. I thoroughly enjoyed, and I am sure his other books are equally as good

Started off well but as you get deeper into the book some of the advice gets a little dishonest for my liking, lacking integrity (for example rule 82 on being conciliatory). That said, there are still plenty of decent advice to glean from the book, particularly if you’re new to work and office politics. The writing is easy to read, engaging and often humorous. Worth a read but use your discernment on which rules to adopt. I would steer clear of anything that threatens your integrity.

I wish I had read that book earlier. But then I probably would have brushed it off. It’s a bit like fight club, you dont talk about it. But when you know you know. I recognized a lot of the advise that I had to learn from experience. Even if you may know a lot of them it is good to regain focus. I am still failing at a few of them but hey gonna focus.
