Great power supply at a great price!
It’s a great power supply for the price I paid. $65 at the time. It’s fully modular and the cables are decent quality. Great for smaller builds where you need less cables. It has a eco mode (which I didn’t know about) that turns off its fan under low load, which I’ll make the fan and psu last longer. I only buy EVGA power supplies, definitely worth the money.

Favorite PSU for budget builds!
I love building budget gaming computers. When price vs performance comes in to play, this PSU offers great, reliable performance for almost all except really high end builds. It can be tempting to go for a non-modular 450W PSU in budget builds, but for usually $20 you can upgrade to this bad boy. The fully modular design makes it great for small form factors, the cables look great and are fully braided. 550W will be enough to power almost any build without issue. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Very good power supply - solid, quiet, and appears well made
This was purchased to drop into a Dell computer. That can be problematic, and we found that only 3/4 screws would hit the right slots. That's good enough for a non-portable tower. It would be very nice if EVGA would have power supplies that are designed for Dell models, and have reference charts. Otherwise, there is a lot of guess work involved on the physical fit.The good news is that the instructions and labeling are very clear and easy to follow. All possible cable connections are included, which is appreciated. The computer booted right up and works just fine. Check carefully for compatibility before ordering. Recommended.

The 550W B3 is great for 1-GPU systems or custom cable mods!
Writing this review in 2019, I just upgraded my daughter's old Haswell Pentium/GTX 750Ti build to a Core i5/GTX 1060 as she's doing a lot more than just browsing the web and Minecraft, so I upgraded her system... I also wanted to "add some bling" to her system, so I decided to get a new case and some custom cables for the PSU. She had an older no-name, uncertified PSU, and while I had no problems, I didn't want to trust her new upgrades with an old PSU of dubious history, plus I wanted full-modular for the cables I had in mind (I didn't have room for custom extensions, I needed to use custom replacements).First off, there are MANY sites that offer wattage calculators for how much your system draws at peak useage... long story short, the average home computer with a single graphics card usually maxes out around 300W give or take. That doesn't mean buy a 300W PSU (don't do that!)... you never want your system to reach your PSU's max wattage, and the most efficient power draw a PSU ever reaches is usually around 50% max load... so if your system pulls around 300w, you want a PSU around 600w capacity for maximum efficiency. So unless you're running a ton of peripherals and two or more graphics cards, the average computer owner should be looking in the 550w-650w range... anything more is just throwing your money out the window and your PSU will be less effiicent since it won't even reach 50% of it's max draw.I was very happy with this PSU... it's the perfect wattage, it runs very quiet, it has an econo-mode, it's small, its fully modular, and the cables that come with the PSU are all black wires from beginning to end... not a single "ketchup and mustard" wire to be found with this PSU. Also, becuase it is fully modular, it makes it easy to get replacement cables for custom wiring jobs as-in my pictures. I purchased the Cablemods E-Series replacement cables for her B3 PSU and was very happy with the results.I've been using (and/or upgrading to) multiple EVGA PSUs for the many systems I have in my house and have never had one fail on me... I might replace one from time to time for various reasons, but it's never been becasue of a failure. EVGA has me as a happy return customer! You'd be wise to get one of their PSUs.

Ryzen build
works great for my low power ryzen build, all together it is using a EVGA550 watt fully modular PSU, Thermaltake Core V V21 Case, 500GB NVME Samsung SSD, 16GB ddr4 O.C. to 3000Mhz balistix ram, and stock cooler on a Ryzen 5 2600, and a temporary video card of an EVGA 1050 2GB video card. I love the build, I got a 1070FE used coming to sweeten the System as well and help me game at 4k on windows 10(not max graphics but pretty darn good)I like the modular power supplies, and the sleeved cables are awsome, great product thanks EVGA love all your products!

works
Works well, nothing exceptional though. Only con is that there is high pitched coil whine when it's running, though I can't hear it over the sound of the fans.5 year update:Still working perfectly. Coil whine went away at some point, I changed my fans to quieter ones a year ago and my PC was completely silent.I'm changing my power supply just because I'm not too keen on using one out of warranty, but there have been no issues with it until now which indicate its failing. Great PSU.

Great modular power supply, super easy to install
This was my first foray into modular power supplies, and I couldn't be happier. This one is fully modular, and I only needed 3 of the cables attached, which made them so much easier to manage. The cables themselves are braided, and look really nice and heavy duty. I also appreciate that the fabric cuts off a few inches before the plug, to make it easier to get into the motherboard. Some of my older cables, didn't have that feature, and were a pain in the neck to plug in, and they looked uglier too. I've only had my power supply in for about 2 weeks, so I can't comment on the longevity, but so far I'm really happy with my results.

this PSU will be great for you
The power supply works as you would expect for a 550W 80+ Bronze PSU that's $60. The issue is it is sooooo loud. The second you put stress on the thing the fan turns up to max or close to it (not sure what the fan curve looks like). I have had a Roswill 600W which was also 80+ bronze and it never made noise. The thing was a champ until i gave it to a friend thinking this would be an upgrade (i also got it for the black cables and modularity). That said, if you don't care about fan noise, this PSU will be great for you.tl;drIf you hate fan noise, avoid this one. If you don't care, its a good, reliable PSU.

Amazing PSU! 100% Recommend
Amazing PSU. I upgraded from my PC's original OEM PSU. I have an HP Pavilion. It came with a 300W HP PSU. I figured since I am a more power hungry user and that eventually I do plan on upgrading to a graphics card that requires power from the PSU that it was time to upgrade. It was well worth it. The installation was quite easy. Cable management in my HP case is difficult but I figured it out. It's good to know that I have this PSU now because I can use it when I decide to upgrade in the future. I will have all the power I need to get a high end GPU and still have power to spare. I definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to upgrade a PSU that doesn't break the bank. This Bronze rated 80+ PSU will sure hold me through for years to come. Also it being fully modular made things so much better in my case that has limited space. The last thing I need is cables in my case that I DON'T NEED. For those who are wondering if it will fit in their case. YES IT WILL. Mine is a Mid Size ATX case with a uATX board in it and it fit fine. It was a tight squeeze but I got it in with just enough room to spare.

The best “budget” power supply there is.
Ive built a few computer over the years and I have to say this is one of the best psu’s I’ve worked with. Fully modular so you only use the cables you need. EVGA psu’s are slick looking in general.Build quality is top notch. This has been in my computer now for about a month and i haven't heard it once.If you want a clean build, you can’t go wrong with this power supply.550w is enough for me and should be enough for 90% of the people that ever see this.I do not suggest buying the 450w unless your simply swapping out an oem power supply.550w is perfect.

Cable management // Gestion des câbles
Very good product for the price. Only negative points is that all the cables have the same lenght. When it comes to cable management, you might have some fun trying to either hide the cables or reach the place you want. There's also no image in the manual showing which cable goes where in the psu, which means you might have to plug all cable needed before you put the psu in place. Other than that it works perfectly.//Très bon produit pour le prix.

... first power supply unit purchase and I couldn't be happier with it
This was my first power supply unit purchase and I couldn't be happier with it!I am very tech-savvy, but haven't done much computer upgrading/re-assembly and this modular power supply was extremely easy to hook up. The added bonus of being able to exclude cables that you don't need helps keep the inside of my setup neat and less-cluttered.Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to upgrade their power supply to support an 8-pin or higher GPU.

Fully Modular and WAS cheap
Bought it last year and works no problem, no noise and stable. Fully Modular. If you have a single PCIe video card in your computer, this is all you need. Don't waste your money getting a larger power supply with more wattage as the capacity will not be used.
