Delivered promptly. Am pleased with the storm (really used it in storm) resistant umbrella, my girlfriend has only had the opportunity to use it twice. High quality, will not break easily at all. Highly recommend.

GOOD QUALITY..BUT BIGGER THAT I IMAGINED
I bought this umbrella in red to give it as a gift to a friend. I think it is good quality and very useful. However, it is a bit bigger and heavier than I imagined, so I do not really know if it will be useful for my friend, who wanted an umbrella that she could keep inside her purse to protect herself in the event of an unexpected rain.

It is not compact at all and it is very heavy. Definitely not for travel.

Don't buy this umbrella.
After about 4 months, it began to be more difficult to close. Finally it stopped closing altogether. I would not buy it again.

Great Umbrella
bought this for my wife when her last one broke after just 3 uses. I will say this is pretty much one of the best umbrellas I have ever bought and she is very pleased. It was packaged very nicely. You can tell this was not some cheap, poorly made umbrella. It is well made and she loves the color. Overall a very happy customer and would highly recommend.

This is a very strong umbrella which has survived some strong coastal winter gusts. It did turn inside out on a couple of occasions but went back the right way easily enough with no apparent damage. However, potential buyers should note the following: Firstly, the spring mechanism that opens the umbrella from its collapsed, closed state is extremely strong. Consequently, you need a fair amount of strength to close it again. There is a button in the handle that you press to open the umbrella. The handle extends to full length and the canopy opens with quite a lot of force. You press the button again and the canopy collapses and folds up, but you still need to push down hard on the top of the umbrella to concertina the handle. I do it by holding the end of the handle against my abdomen and pushing the top of the brolly towards me. And I'm by no means weak. Anyone with weak hands or wrists, e.g. with arthritis, may struggle. Secondly, if you press the button to collapse the canopy, e.g. when going into a shop, before you can open it out again you have to completely close it, which is a bit of a nuisance.

This red umbrella is very sturdy so a bit heavy, although a good size when open and reasonably small when folded. There is a single push button (needs a bit of strength to push it, so probably not for arthritic hands) which opens the brolly and also closes it, although it still has to be pushed fully closed and then fastened with the usual cord. The zipped case is very handy, as one can put the folded, wet umbrella into it when entering a restaurant out of the rain, without the umbrella dripping everywhere as usually happens with other umbrellas. Once back home, the unzipped case can be left open to dry the inside, which dries quickly. The umbrella dries in the usual way by being opened and left to dry. I would have preferred another colour though (black or navy), rather than red - it is a brighter red than usual for a colour called burgundy.

My burgundy/'plum' Pluvio umbrella is the answer to the UK's ever surprising weather. Kept at the ready in bag, briefcase, backpack or car it is automatically operated in a moment. I find the chunky handle comfortable to hold, which is a bonus if you have arthritis, while the canopy's wide diameter and height ensure there is no need to shrink oneself to fit. Closing is also at the touch of a button, with a hard surface helping to counterbalance my push to complete the process. In addition to the usual slip cover, a smart zipped shell case is provided so that once wet the umbrella, in its case, can protect the inside and other contents of your bag, briefcase, backpack or car storage. Other makes of umbrellas I have owned, of which there have been many, have been too small to be of use, collapsed in the feeblest breeze, let the rain through or the mechanism has failed. The original price suggests quality, the online discount is generous and the reviews I read were very positive, all of which influenced my choice.

It was a lovely umbrella (note the past tense). It wasn't too heavy, didn't blow inside out when it was windy and, although it did take a bit of effort to close, it worked fine. Didn't have any problems untik two weeks ago. It was raining, I was getting off the bus, reached for the umbrella which is usually at the side of my bag, tried to open it....it flew open, along with the open / close button and somewhere along the line I got a cut on my finger. The umbrella didn't open and I couldn't be bothered to fight with a broken umbrella. When I got home I realised the open / close button was missing (must have flown out when I opened it), and that was it. Disappointing really, as it seemed a nice umbrella and I loved the colour. ***Update*** Shortly after writing my review I was contacted by someone from the company and was given a replacement. And the replacement has perform as good as the Samsonite I had for many years. So far it’s about two years strong, long may it last!

Only recently received this umbrella so not had a chance to use it yet. It seems really sturdy and I like the little case you can pack it away in to keep things dry in your bag. That's why only given 4 stars. Will review again once given a good workout!
